Town notched their second home win of the season with a comfortable 3-1 win against Cardiff City, and in doing so went fifth in the table. Darren Bent put the Blues ahead in the first half but Alan Lee hit back after the break, only for Tommy Miller and Ian Westlake to net for Town.

New England U21 cap Matt Richards has emerged as another doubt for the Blues ahead of Saturday's home game with Cardiff City. However, Town are hopeful that Richards, Jason De Vos and skipper Jim Magilton will all be available for the visit of the Bluebirds.

Town lost their first game of 2004/05 3-2 at George Burley's Derby County despite being 2-1 up at the break. A penalty from Tommy Miller and a second from Dean Bowditch a minute later had put the Blues in front but goals from Marco Reich (2) and Inigo Idiakez won the game for the Rams.

Stand-in skipper Jason De Vos has been declared fit for Saturday's trip to Derby County, with regular skipper Jim Magilton again on the sidelines due to his thigh muscle tear. The Northern Irishman is due for a scan on the injury - which has kept out of Town's first three games - on Monday.
