Town boss Joe Royle is reported to be ready to show the exit door to a couple more of his existing squad as he begins the job of rebuilding for next season.
Squad for Wimbledon Thu 24th Apr 2003 16:59
Tommy Miller is Joe Royle's biggest injury worry ahead of Saturday's home game with Wimbledon. The midfielder has a sore calf after Monday's game against Rotherham and will be tested on Friday before a decision is made on his fitness. Better news is that Darren Bent will be available again after missing out recently due to a hamstring injury.
Naylor Misses Out Thu 17th Apr 2003 14:15
Town will be without Richard Naylor when they face promoted Portsmouth on Friday evening at Portman Road (KO 5.15pm). Naylor was substituted at half-time during the Blues' 4-2 away win at Coventry City last Saturday and has not recovered sufficiently to take his place in the Town defence.
Coventry 2-4 Town Sat 12th Apr 2003 18:18
Town once again had to come from behind to claim three important points as they beat Coventry 4-2 at Highfield Road. A poor first half saw the Blues two goals behind before Pablo Couñago (2) and Marcus Bent (2) scored the goals which keep Town in the play-off hunt.
Bowditch in Squad Fri 11th Apr 2003 13:44
Youngster Dean Bowditch is included in Joe Royle's squad for Saturday's game at Coventry ahead of Alun Armstrong. The former Boro man is left out of the travelling party due to his lack of fitness after his lay-off with a broken wrist.
Town 3-4 Forest Sat 05th Apr 2003 18:55
Town will feel they deserved at least a point from a rip-roaring thriller which ended 4-3 to Forest. The Blues were 2-0 up, then 3-2 down before equalising and looked the likelier side to take the three points until former loanee Marlon Harewood popped up with a 74th minute winner.
Holland in Defence Fri 04th Apr 2003 14:20
Town skipper Matt Holland is set to line-up in the Town defence tomorrow in place of the injured Thomas Gaardsøe. The Dane will sit out with a groin injury.
Darren Misses Out Thu 03rd Apr 2003 14:47
Darren Bent is definitely out of Saturday's play-off six-pointer at home to Nottingham Forest due to the hamstring injury picked up during Saturday's game at Gillingham. Thomas Gaardsøe is still a doubt with a groin problem.
Gillingham 1-3 Town Sat 29th Mar 2003 18:03
Town's play-off hopes were given a boost after they came from behind to beat Gillingham 3-1 at the Priestfield Stadium. Paul Smith put the home side in front before Tommy Miller, Pablo Couñago and Marcus Bent gave the Blues the win they deserved.
Travelling 16 for Gills Fri 28th Mar 2003 12:34
Joe Royle has left Dean Bowditch out of the party travelling to Kent for tomorrow's Division One game with Gillingham. The omission of Bowditch from the final squad suggests that Martijn Reuser will be fit to face Andy Hessenthaler's side.
