Two goals in the first 15 minutes, one from former Blue Thomas Gaardsøe, virtually assured the Baggies a win. Richard Naylor got one back for Town at 3-1 but that was scant comfort on another depressing afternoon.

Two goals from Darren Bent saved a woeful Town from defeat against lowly Grimsby. An early goal from Paul Groves, which appeared not to cross the line, gave the Mariners the lead before Bent equalised with a header. A James Pullen howler gave Michael Boulding a goal but Bent hit back again late on.

Manager Joe Royle will hand keeper James Pullen his first league start for the Blues tomorrow as Town take on Grimsby Town. Pullen has made one start for Town, in the Worthington Cup against Middlesbrough and made 19 full appearances when on loan at Blackpool last season.
