The perfect captain, on and off the pitch. Thank you Sam for helping to turn the club around and driving the team on to great things. Best wishes to you and your family. |
 | News Comment | Delap Release Clause £30m at 19:09:50
It's just the relegation that has messed it up. In fairness to the club, they probably felt it was highly unlikely that Delap would more than double in value at the same time as that (and others) not being enough to keep us up. A real killer though as staying up would have meant we were in control of the bidding (if he went) and we would have been in a very strong position with his long term deal. Sadly, the circumstances will cost us a crazy amount of money but such is life. It's going to be a massive challenge next year. Hopefully the manager stays and the young players we've invested big money in will deliver on their promise and we can bounce back. |

Merry Christmas TWTD and thank you for all of your work during the year. The best of them all. |
 | News Comment | McKenna Celebrates Three Years as Town Boss at 19:32:48
We're so lucky to have him. Has to be the classiest manager in the game - a perfect fit for the Town and it's heritage. Such a great character and you can see it mirrored in his players. Can't thank him enough for saving and reviving our Club. I remember at the time, when the links were made to a young Alf Ramsey and Bobby Robson taking over at Town and hoping that it could happen again but never would have believed it could, and so quickly, also while playing entertaining classy football. Thank you Kieran. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We've Lost Tuanzebe Long Term at 15:38:34
Devastating blow. He's so good at this level. Anytime you see Axel tracking back against a player, you just know he's going to get there. So much stability when he is there and it enables us to be more adventurous beyond that position. We haven't had a break with injuries. |
 | News Comment | Humphreys Seals Wycombe Loan Move at 21:58:03
A super lad. Great heart and skill. Lucky Wycombe. Will be great to get a full season of play under him and come back even better. Definitely the kind of character we need for the future. Hope it goes smoothly. |
 | News Comment | Cajuste Set For Town Medical at 12:20:23
Great news. I really like that we have a habit now of signing players who clearly have the talent but also have a point to prove because things have stalled for them or circumstances have got in the way. They come to our family, feel the love, enjoy their football again with lads who can relate to their journey, and then rediscover their magic. It's all about character and our lads have it. It'll be needed this year for sure but we have a team to be proud of whatever happens. |
 | News Comment | Chairman O'Leary Retires at 17:02:32
A class act. We were so lucky to have him. He oozed calmness and brought so much experience to the role, allowing others to shine around him and obviously was key before that in securing the vital change of ownership. I hope there will be an opportunity for the fans to show their appreciation at a game in the near future. Thank you Mr. O'Leary and best wishes for your retirement. |
 | News Comment | McKenna Expected to Stay at Town at 19:45:05
Great news. Suggests a lot of backing promised too. Very exciting times ahead now to see what transfers are added. (Just hope it's not a last ditch attempt by his agents to force United's hand before signing. He must have learned a lot about United's new owners by this process. Stick with those who love you Kieran). Well done to the owners and Ashton for keeping patient and putting the money down, recognising how important he is to us. COYB |
 | News Comment | Blackpool Among Clubs to Make Baggott Enquiry at 14:10:51
Understand regular experience is important but feel he deserves to stay and be part of the club. He is better than a mistake prone senior CB already and that gap will only continue to widen over time. If we let him go out and replace him with a temporary Keogh/Cathcart type it would be disappointing. Anyway, I trust KMc to do the right thing by the lad. I think he's a gem and would worry that constantly sending him out might result in us losing favour with him. |
 | News Comment | Ashton Expecting Transfer Market Domino Effect at 20:52:31
In fairness to Mark Ashton, since the local media etc. has come onboard and more frequently only mentioned a potential deal when it's basically over the line, we have signed some very good players. Yes, our extra resources in recent times has helped too. The issue now is that our resources are easily matched in the Championship, so this approach by all is even more important. The difficult reality though, is that there is greater media involvement in the Championship at so many levels beyond local press. Even fan interest by numbers is far greater so information gets out from clubs, player sightings etc. There will always be wider media too, acting on behalf of another club, an agent or just plain journalism, that can't be controlled and fans will naturally comment on these links. I suspect there's a hint of frustration from him with the way the transfer window has gone so far and the fact that it is going to be a mad late scramble by the very nature of the landscape he's outlined. I'm just so grateful that we have the right people at the club to best react to these challenges in a financially calm and considered way. |
 | News Comment | Camara Linked With Owls Loan Move at 19:14:17
Plenty of pre-season games ahead but it sounds like McK needs to see a run of games from him to be convinced for the future. He was one of the outstanding lg1 midfielders at Plymouth and it was an unlucky injury that deprived us of seeing that rather than bad play when fully fit. Still believe there's a class player there for us and he's ahead of a couple of our other mf's re the future. Trust them to make the right call and if he goes on loan, hope it's where he's playing every week rather than warming the bench. |
 | News Comment | Town Complete Broadhead Signing at 23:44:53
Such a transformation at the Club, on and off the pitch. No more exemplified than the manner in which it now conducts it's business. Well done to everyone behind the scenes. Well done to the team and staff for battling through a challenging injury/illness first half of the season. Let's hope the new signings give us the injection we need to charge on now. |
 | News Comment | Charlton Athletic 4-4 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:30:31
1. We have failed to defend crosses all season. Defence is clueless in the air and has dodged bullets all season. 2. Can't agree with the same error in selection up front as recent games, no Edwards, Ladapo, Harness until 71 despite them being our main finishers and expecting goals from Jacko? Why Very frustrating day and asking for trouble. |
 | News Comment | Camara Signing Confirmed at 19:08:22
Welcome to the Town! Great to see the club doing proper business. Not being ripped off and having clear plans. Well done all! |
 | News Comment | Town Closing in On Ahadme Signing at 11:26:03
