Left home at 1am. Buses, flight, train, tube, the Town fans growing in numbers at each stop. The moment was strangely the whole ground singing you'll never walk alone and the ref waiting until we'd finished to call for the ball and blow up. Got the flight home and back to mine just before midnight. If ever there was a day that felt like a dream, that was it.
Idiot fan. We're on show to the world and this eejit does this. Headline news. Not a good look for our great fans who once again did the club proud today.
Not an easy job for the announcer but of all the times to make a hash of Hey Jude. Home to Liverpool (and the world watching). Surely it's easy to have a cut off point and give it priority over any more talk. You know when kick off is and how long it takes to play it. It should just start playing over him as a reminder that talk time is up. HJ is an opportunity to set the tone for the crowd and get into the minds of the opposition that Sleepy Suffolk doesn't apply to Portman Road. It's an advantage to be used properly.
Would be a shrewd signing and a good fit on and off the pitch. Dare I say it, Matt Holland-esque. Even at a young age, has stood out for club and country as being an old head on young shoulders. The kind of character, at the right age, who would match Ashton and McKenna's criteria.
Agree entirely. He is an intelligent man and very clear in his thoughts. A bit like Sir Bobby Robson was. In a crisis, that's what you need.
He made a comment previously about age, playing experience etc. saying that although players might have a little interest in what you've done, they are more concerned about themselves and what you can do for them. These players are in a hole that keeps getting deeper. They will listen to him.
I'm much happier with this than anyone else on the betting list and would rather his cv over the others.
Great interview with him on The Coaches Voice on YouTube. Not sure if this link will work but every town fan should watch this video. Will learn more about him than 5 years of press conferences ;-)
What a team!!! So much Skill and Character on display. The most enjoyable Town game I've watched in years. Well done to all the lads and everyone involved behind the scenes. Hopefully with our new owners, it will encourage these lads to stay and be part of a bright blue future. Thanks to every one of them for giving such a lift after the horrors of the first team in recent years. COYB!!!!
For it is said that a St. Patrick's Day blessing is sure to be . . .
“May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand and may Cookie get the Town promoted!”
