I'm a little surprised the Tories aren't further ahead to be honest

I think he just reads the news mate and sees the numbers falling rather than listening to the leftie luvvies who want to stay at home on furlough for the rest of their lives

Exactly, and its easier to manage cases in care homes than in wider society.

The figures released yesterday....

It might be too early, it might not, we don't know. We need to get the economy going sooner rather than later though, can't hide away forever.
As someone else has said the facts (I know that's a dirty word on here) were presented by me and a couple of other posters to point out that someone had made a statement that was completely untrue.

Due to the strange way rates seem to fluctuate depending on days of the week I've been looking at the corresponding day 7 days ago, e.g. today I'll look at last Thursday etc.
Yesterday - 649 deaths, the previous Wednesday (29th) 795, Wednesday 22nd 837 deaths, Wednesday 15th 842 deaths. So the rate of decrease seems to be increasing each week.

As others have stated our infection rates, or more accurately put the number of people testing positive, have remained pretty much static despite a four or five fold increase in the number of tests. We were getting four or five thousand positives when we were testing hardly anyone, we're now getting four or five thousand when we're testing quite a lot (though still not enough) people. This indicates rates of infection are going down. This is backed up by fairly sharp decreases in deaths and, crucially, the number of people in hospital.
The risk involved of healthy people engaging in some outside activity a bit more is practically nil. Its also an important first step to get people in the right place for further re start activities that will follow.

London is never getting out of lockdown
at 13:09 24 Apr 2020

Completely agree these people should not be doing that but London has gone from a peak of 6 thousand people in hospital to just over 3 thousand in 2 or 3 weeks so I don't think some form of exit from the current lockdown (obviously phased) is that far away

North Stand section 6, you are killing our club

Have a word with yourself you absolute melt. If any other club in the league were under-performing this badly they would have been getting pelters for weeks. Yesterday was utter, utter dross.
Just because the rest of the ground are mute zombies don't have a go at the few people with a bit of life about them.

Poor old Freddie, first game in over a year and you're slating him for not chasing down and slowing an opposition Goalkeeper kicking it in injury time ... if you want to blame anyone for that blame the Striker who got a needless red card which meant we had force 90 mins out of the poor old boy!

Time to thank them for their service and move them on.
Club needs a fundamental over haul, these two are part of the old guard and whether its their fault or not fresh attitudes approaches and ideas are what is needed. Time to move on.

There's been talk for a while the 'official' death toll from China is under reported. If the Iranian figures are accurate its very worrying indeed.

I don't think you are targeting me at all and there's some very good points in here. Thanks, its certainly food for thought. Far more so than those on here who just call me 'thick'.

I meant if its genuine abuse and not wannabe woke virtue signallers over reacting.
I don't see the problem with the Toto song, especially in light of the fact that the player himself didn't have a problem with it

Where have I said the club are lying?!
They've clearly had reports, I'm not saying they've made it up!
I'm just saying I don't think its a massive issue. Perhaps they are over reacting to a few busy body over sensitive fans?

Wow, this is difficult. I personally don't think Ipswich has an issue with this, I have a different opinion to you, get over it.

I haven't objected to anything! Obviously if this stuff is happening it should be dealt with. All I'm saying is I don't think there is a problem with this at Ipswich. I form that view based on the fact the I haven't heard anything like that in 25 years of going to PR.
P.S. I note how you edited your post to make it seem a little less abusive. Smooth.
