If we get the injuries we had last year, our 25 man squad gets depleted very quickly. We need U21s to back it up. Notable that the likes of Boniface and Mendel not on the Austria tour or playing in U21 games. |
 | Forum Reply | Anyone got a house Martin nest? at 16:44 13 Jun 2025
I do wildlife rescue and have a nestling in home care at the moment. gaining 3g a day but a long way to go until release. Not many coming in to the rescue centre but last year we had swifts, swallows and house martins to raise and release. |

As we broke the previous transfer paid fee 10 times this season, wonder if someone wants to list the transfers received figures - no doubt we'll break that several times over this Summer. |
 | Forum Reply | All the second string playing next week then? at 17:12 5 Jan 2025
Definitely - shame Chaplin is injured, leaves options up front a little short. Taylor having to come on as a number 10 today when next week I'm sure it'll be Taylor and Phillips in the midfield (with Luongo injured). Think Jack Clarke will benefit from a start. |

My first game was Ipswich vs Liverpool Oct 82, Mich DAvray scored in 1-0 win. Would take a similar score in our first game this season. |

Suddenly we will need the full squad - no Morsy, Hirst or Scarlett. Time for the Fridge and Cam Humphreys to return to the bench. |

He needs 7 more to break in to top 10. James Scowcroft & Darren Bent current in 10th place with 55. Oops, was early, that was Top 20 not 10 [Post edited 10 Dec 2023 16:28]

 | Forum Reply | Anyone worked in the Falkland.Islands? at 17:16 2 Jun 2023
Yes, 3 4 month tours in 1990, 2004 and 2014. Best to go over our winter but you'll still get 4 seasons in a day in Summer. 1st 2 tours I didn't do much (winter) but the last 1 I went all over. Winters not as bad as 30 years ago mind. |

They were called "Stills" after "Bennies" ie Still a Bennie, then "Andy's". Andy's Still a Bennie |

And on the flip side - if you are ever in the Falklands, don't call it the Malvinas. One thing that has progressed in the past 40 years is how well off the Islanders are - oil and fishing rights. Per head of population, they are pretty wealthy and there are now some pretty nice properties being built in idyllic surroundings. |

There never were defences bar the 80 Royal Marines stationed there - and if memory serves me right, that was double the usual commitment as was during a handover, probably why Endurance was there. Endurance hardly a warship either. |
