Prodigy were unique as lots of people have pointed out. There were a lot of indie / dance crossovers at the time. I was lucky enough to live through the musical evolution from indie to dance. Such an amazing time in music. Their use of breakbeats was unusual as well. So from a indie crossover place as people have mentioned - pwei, carter usm?! The farm were a bit slicker, primal scream.
From more of a dance angle you could try future sound of London. Some early drum and bass on reinforced might also work.

I know right. Shocking. This is how fascism works though. Push the narrative as far as you can until the people push back but always trying to nudge the narrative. Were long past the thin edge of the wedge.
I was asking bout Liverpool tickets having put ballot entry in on Monday. Already have a membership. Don’t think memberships will be subject to ballot?
Ha i suppose im saying that maybe democracies - a bit like markets - cease to flourish when they are dominated by big players - parties or companies - who have a vested interest in keeping it that way and not letting anyone else in. It’s funny - the tories apply the market analogy to almost everything except politics.
It’s not democracy that’s the problem - it’s the way that it operates in many countries. Kwarteng talked about a pendulum the other day that swings between the conservatives and labour. Democracy means literally people power. The first past the post system means that the votes of many people don’t count - they have no power. The power lies with the two main parties who know they only have to wait for the pendulum to swing before being given pretty much total power.
The main issues seem to me to be divisive politics and short term thinking. You could add the breadth of political opinions that exist in the country that aren’t given voice. There seems to be only two ways of addressing these - autocracy or proportional representation. Russia and China have become much more authoritarian. Many Scandinavian countries embrace pr and have much happier societies than ours. It allows for all voices to be heard, requires a politics of collaboration not division and means that there are no wild swings in policy as the pendulum swings much more gently.
If you haven’t already check out electoral reform society. The two main parties won’t push it - it’s a two party monopoly at the moment - Tesco or Sainsbury’s. The momentum is building behind this because of exactly this loss of faith in democracy. Starmer originally said he would put it on the table but has taken it off pretty quick. Disappointing. But I think the change is possible. It’s got to be better than dictatorship no?
Agree a lot of garbage but maybe some unloved gems that McKenna could work his magic on. Something off about Man U at the moment. Look at sancho last night - different player. Suppose he might have inside track on yoof squad.
Given that the whole squad is supposedly up for sale, if we win promotion on Saturday would we want any of them? Some would obviously be out of our league. The McKenna link might help too.
It is remarkable that we are up there with Leicester, Leeds and Southampton and we are having a great season. It’s remarkable not only because we are newly promoted but mostly because we have no parachute money. And is it really great? Or is it just that those three teams have a massive financial advantage that others have little to no chance of competing with? We are the only team who can justifiably claim some hubris for doing what we’re doing. Highlights again what a fantastic job McKenna and the whole team are doing
