Yep yep, the Harald Schumacher incident is exactly where my thoughts went last night. If Delap had done that I'd have been incredibly pissed off with him, not applauding it. |

Maybe I should have phrased it differently - I'm not interested in any 'thoughts and prayers' bullsh*t about him if he is ill, that's all I meant, because he doesn't deserve the good wishes of people he wouldn't p*ss on if they were on fire. As ye sow, so shall ye reap... |

I'm not wishing it on him, but I give fewer than zero sh*ts if he is. He's an amoral, grifting, corrupt. self-obsessed liar and charlatan who has done incalculable damage to this country - suffering ill-health (not that I necessarily think he is) doesn't suddenly turn the worst Prime Minister in history into a saint. |

It's not designed to be workable policy, they know it won't work. And when it doesn't, that lets them make speeches about how the will of the people is being thwarted by lefty lawyers and intellectuals, and lets them spread more hate and division and put the blame anywhere but on themselves, because that is literally all they've got left. Textbook techniques for the morally bankrupt, and ones that have been tried before somewhere, but apparently I can't say where because if I do that makes me a traitor... |
