Excellent summary.
The problem is that many people look know further than thinking “Nige will sort it.” They cannot articulate Reform policies, almost an impossibility anyway, but have no interest in thinking deeply about the issues that affect us. Your critique of Farage has too many big words in for many of them; they don’t fit on tik tok.

Of course the shooting cannot be justified. Kirk had great influence which, perhaps, he could have used to introduce an element of calm into a society which is splitting apart.
What really gets me are the comments made by Trump, Vance et al when they were silent after the assassination of the Dem in Minnesota and the numerous school shootings (“one of those things” according to Vance). Ordering the flag to be flown at half mast until after the weekend? What is that about?
Kirk was a man who saw empathy as a weakness. In his case I don’t feel particularly weak. [Post edited 11 Sep 9:15]

It’s such a shame. I had thought that when he inevitably left this summer I would be willing him to do well in every game. Due to the way he behaved in the last few weeks I am totally indifferent to him and his success or otherwise. He listened to his agent, whose sole interest is money, and stuck his middle finger up at the club and fans.
Meanwhile I wish Conor and Wolfie all the very best. |

We did NOT “let Burgess go.” He was offered a new contract and turned it down. As a free agent he decided to leave. KMc has said that he would have liked him to stay.
The people banging on about what a “ridiculous” decision it was should be aware of that by now. |
