 | Forum Reply | Sam Morsy gone at 19:27 24 Jul 2025
I'm really gutted but at the same time so grateful to Sam for everything he did for us. A fantastic leader and captain and also a wonderful footballer, there were times in the Championship promotion season where he was absolutely unplayable and just dominated the midfield. In fact it was most weeks to be honest. I don't want to put too much pressure on Matusiwa but he has very big shoes to fill in that role, the club too really need to pull some big signings out of the bag in the midfield area if they are prepared to let Sam go in this critical season. We need some big players and some big characters in there if we are going to challenge for the top 2 again. |

Well that's an easy fix, don't read them! The clue to the theme is usually contained within the title. |

In a word, yes, but I am as much concerned about losing Morsy as I am about the time it is taking to bring people in. We have targeted Ruiz, and although this looks unlikely now it is slightly concerning that we could have a new midfield base consisting of two players that have never played in this country before, never mind the Championship. At this point I would be looking to get in a Travis ( or similar ) just to give us some Championship know-how in that area of the pitch while the others bed in. |

You are full of sh!t and have proven this on a number of ocassions, please give it a rest as it is very boring and not impressing anybody. |

Agreed, Ed was very good and certainly knows how to work a crowd. I was really impressed with his sheer energy and stamina, nealy 2.5 hours and close to 30 songs. I took my kids to see Lana Del Rey recently and she performed only 15 songs and while her voice sounded good, she hardly spoke or interacted with the audiance at all. There is a lot of snobbery around sheerans music and it seems to be cool to dismiss it as 'bland' etc. If I am being honest he is not somebody I would listen to at home on a regular basis but I can still appeciate that he is a talented boy, a great songwriter and a brilliant performer. Enjoy if you are going tonight or Sunday. I don't think you will be disappointed. [Post edited 12 Jul 10:32]

If I have to read about Conor Townsend's hamstring or Tingley Ted one more time.......( no offence Phil ). When does training start? Even the obilgatory 'training pics' would liven things up at this stage! |

Agreed, and this is what Chansiri should do. If he no longer has the funds and/or interest then he should do the right thing and find a decent buyer, even if it's for a figure below what he considers optimum. The problem is that if you are a total c**t, as he appears to be, then 'doing the right thing' doesn't really enter the equation. |

They will be, but then they are also weaker than every single team we played in the league last season ( including Southampton ). They really are nothing to be afraid of, if we are equally 'up for it' then we should be more than a match for them. |
 | Forum Thread | The rules of war- 2025 at 11:48 18 Jun 2025
1) - Israel is allowed to do whatever it wants in Gaza, take over the land bit by bit and effectively commit a slow genocide on the people living there - no intervention from Western nations at all, just the odd mumble of condemnation after about 20 years. 2) - Israel is allowed to attack Iran in 'self-defence' just in case Iran might have been planning to attack them first. Israel has a'right to defend itself' of course, as we are regularly told. 3) - Israel and lots of Western nations are allowed to have nuclear weapons, Iran are not allowed because that would be dangerous to the World. 4) - The US ( and probably other western nations ) are set to jump into this war and 'help' Israel, because obviously Iran are the big threat to us all. We couldn't possibly help the Palestinians of course. Complete the list, I'm sure I have missed a few. This World is seriously messed up and inverted. I remember as a kid growing up thinking we were the 'good guys' and these other strange countries on the news were evil and the enemy. They sure did a good job with the propaganda and brain-washing. I wonder if the new generation are going to fall for it so easily. I hope not. |

But perfectly understandable given our journey and where we came from. |

Never really liked Manning to be honest, cant put my finger on why, just something irritating ( and rather dull ) about his persona. From that point of view he seems like the perfect fit for a Norwich Manager. |

Agree mostly but Palmer is better than walton in my view, I also think you are a bit harsh on Phillips. He was a little bit disappointing overall but did have some good games for us. It's also hard to imagine any one midfielder being able to come into that team and make that much of a difference. I'm not sure there is room for J clarke and Broadhead in the squad next season, both will want to be the main man in the left 10 position. |

Not if he has any sense he wont, they are crap, and if Leeds / Burnley get their act together in the summer in terms of recruitment I could see West Ham going down next year. |

Probably because we didn't field "League One players" in the PL this season as certain people keep oddy claiming. Most of our signings when we were in L1 were already established Champ players such as Chaplin, Morsy, walton etc. and those that were from L1 more than proved themselves as capable champ players last season, Burns, Burgess etc.. |

Plenty of us were realistic on this thread before the season started. Seeing lots of people say we’ll comfortably stay up…. by Matt_Netherlands 18 Jul 2024 11:29Is this a bit naive? Feel like some people are in for a bit of a nasty surprise at the big step up in quality this year.
We’ve had an incredible two years and we are strengthening very sensibly, but for me I still think it’ll be one hell of an achievement to stay up. I’ll take 17th place on goal difference right now.
I applaud the courage and optimism, but I just hope that doesn’t lead to blind complacency and the whole atmosphere around the club turning a bit sour if we got off to a bad start - which is very very possible.
Look at Sheff Utd last season. Went up with a similar number of points to us, spent a fair bit of money and then got ripped to shreds. I think our league cup game against Fulham last year shows there’s still a huge gap between the championship and mid table prem teams.
I fully trust in the process and know Kieran will have us incredibly well prepared, but I just hope there’s no sense of complacency and entitlement when the season kicks off.
Sensible Simon, over and out. |

As with most things, nuance is everthing. This article seems to suggest its a case of "seed oils versus beef dripping" and/or "plant based versus animal based" like its an either or choice. What about olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, butter, ghee? Are they not options? Can we not use a mixture of different fats and oils for diversity? or do we just have to turn it into a seed oils versus beef tallow debate? There is also no reference to the big variation in quality within each option. You can get organic cold pressed rapeseed oil or you can get cheap heavily proccessed 'vegetable oil' which is a blend of different low quality oils cobbled together. Both are "seed oils" but are going to be a world apart in terns of quality. I can't stand articles like this to be honest, so lacking in detail, nuance and integrity and clearly designed to divide and get people 'choosing one side or the other'. As for Tim Spector, a very questionable contribution from him. I would imagine he knows full well ( or at least he should do ) that an organic grass fed beef tallow will be generally healthier than a heavily processed non organic vegetable oil and yet he comes out with a ridiculously bland statement such as “beef tallow is certainly not healthier than seed oils" Which particular seed oils are you talking about Tim? What evidence are you presenting to back up your claim? Where is the beef tallow versus seed oils study? No mention at all eiher that many seed oils have a higher quantitiy of Omega 6 and that most of us need more Omega 3 in our diets and less Omega 6. Again, nuance is everything and sorely lacking. |
