To the idiots saying 'where are all the doomsayers now?' get real ffs - this was one game against the bottom team who are in total disarray. That said, it was definitely a promising performance and a much-needed win. Philogene has put his hand up for sure which was really pleasing to see and overall I feel a lot more confident for the future, but as anyone in football will say, one game at a time. Yes it was good, but for the opening five games of the season we were still dire and that hasn't changed. Many of you have stated let's see where we are after 10 games and that, I think, is the sensible approach rather than wetting the bed with excitement after one good performance in 6 against a very poor team. Well done tonight though - very enjoyable! |
 | News Comment | Brentford Linked With McKenna Move Should Frank Depart For Spurs at 09:39:27
Whatever way you look at it McKenna crashed and burned big time last season. Any club taking him back to the premier league would be taking a huge risk. McKenna needs a couple more seasons in the championship getting more experience under his belt before he tackles the top league again. Even then, it might not be enough. |

Frankly I can't see many PL clubs wanting any of our players. I think Delap will struggle because he's nowhere near the finished article. That said, the service to him has been appalling all season and the reason, I believe, why he feels he has to go it alone so often. Which brings me onto our formation as a whole - I don't like, nor will I ever like, playing a lone striker up front. And don't give me that bo11ocks about 'football moving on' etc etc. Play two up front ffs. At least give it a go when all else has failed. That said, you still need a decent midfield and a solid defence: we've had neither all season. As someone said, relegation was probably expected, but the manner in which it is happened is beyond disappointing. Can't see us finishing any better than mid to upper-mid table next season - might scrape into the play-offs if we're lucky but then what? Another season like this in the PL? No thanks. |

howsey - 'how resolute our defence looks now.' You are you having a laugh, aren't you? We've got the 3rd leakiest defence in the league - and that's WITH Palmer, who, I agree, is exceptional. Our defence is dreadful and I fear we're going to concede every time the opposition ventures towards our penalty area! |

Perhaps we could try having a shot or two at goal as well. Apparently that's how you have a chance of scoring. |
