 | News Comment | Few Changes Likely as Town Face Watford Still Looking for a Win at 14:04:07
Trotter was no worse than Leadbitter on Saturday. The bloke tries hard, put in some good tackles and tracked back well. Its not all about pushing forward and scoring goals! The team tonight only has a couple of changes. Martin and Edwards are in for Peters and Quinn. Have spoken to a player this very morning! Keane to go if we don't win tonight!! |

seems to me that M.E. gave Keane money to spend and he wasn't impressed with what he bought, hence why there is no more money to spend. As to a goal machine then that is easy said than done. EVERY club in the league I am sure are after a goal machine, they are just extremely rare and hard to find. At the moment there is only one goal machine in the league this year, and Cardiff snapped him up for £4m |

Lets get realistic people. First off, I would be amazed if Trotter left. Personal opinion about him doesn't matter. He is a hard working midfielder that fits into Keanes style of football. He has played 360 minutes of league football this season. If he didn't think he was good enough why would he play every league game so far? If Keane gets rid of him then we haven't been trying to win this season because we haven't been playing our best side. The same can be said about Pim and Walters. Another 360 minutes this season and didn't start in the carling cup game is surely a sign. Healy, Delaney and Priskin are unlikely as he has only just signed them. At the end of the day they need to be given time to settle down at a new club. For me we have to start with the Carling Cup game, when we played most of our reserves. Garvan played just the one half, has been mostly a sub all season int he league, and considering Keanes desire for hard working, strong tackling midfielders like himself, he just doesn't seem to fit in. Sadly, seeing as when he has confidence he is easily the best passer at the club, he could be on his way. Next up, Alan Quinn. Played the whole of the Shrewsbury game, has only featured as a sub, twice in the league. It deosn't look good for him as a fringe player, especially with Martin in to play on the left. The third is probably Stead. Not been given much of a chance by the manager, having to start up front on his own against Coventry, before the manager decided to switch to a 4-4-2 but then bring him off. Again, against Leicester has to struggle on his own up front all first half before then being substituted at half time as the manager reverts to 4-4-2. A sub in the palace game, getting 40 minutes with a 16yo partner. Finally ending with another 45 mins before hauled off against West Brom. He is a player who could probably command a fee and is getting less of a chance than Wickham, a 16yo inexpeirenced striker. With Counago to come back, it is likely to be Stead on his way. We can then only guess at any other possible transfers. MacAuley if the rumours of a bust up are true? Seems to have been stripped of the captaincy doesn't bode well for him. David Wright? Played the whole of the Shrewsbury game which seems a bit strange considering the inexperience of the rest of the side. Tommy Smith? Not really mentioned, but being shoved at Left back, a position totally alien to him seems a strange move for a player if you rate them good enough. All we can do is sit and wait. IT could be a very interesting week. |
