 | News Comment | Ellington Delighted to Be Reunited With Jewell at 16:40:59
at PR couple of seasons ago i watched this guy come on as a late sub for watford. You could really feel his "larger than life" presence turn the game & i wasnt a bit surprised when he got em a late, late equalizer |
 | News Comment | Clegg: Keane Was Showing the Strain at 14:43:42
Jewel would be a disaster. Yes, he "got Wigan up" ( 6 years ago ) but he was worse than useless at Sheffield wednsday & lost every game he managed at Derby. Surely that isnt a CV to impress a man like Evans ? bet on the sure thing. O'niell or Curbishley. men with a proven track record. They would soon show why they were worth paying the extra money. If "tight finances" ( at a multi millionaires club ? ) dictate a man who can "pull rabbits out of hats", get O' Driscoll. |
 | News Comment | QPR\'s Derry Confirms He Almost Joined Town at 17:15:32
Norwich City are 2nd in the league using a team built upon inspirational management with a maximum wage less than half of what our players get ( this i know for a fact ) If they can do it without £25,000 per week + players like Derry & chopra etc then so could we - IF we had the right man in charge. Cheque book managers are ok - if they actually GET the cheque book - and M.E. is clearly far too tight fisted to accomodate such a man, so let us forget those with dillusions of grandeur - however illustrious their past - and bring on BIG SAM, a down to earth manager who knows how to trawl up the very best from wherever he can get it |

 | News Comment | Burley Sacked By Palace at 01:18:53
George Burley just got fired on the back of a 3 - 0 hammering that put his team bottom ( a bit like the 3 - 0 away defeat at Grimsby that got him fired from Ipswich ) Think about what Martin O'neil, big Sam or Alan Curbishley could achieve - managers with a proven ability for building up teams owned by people who dont seem to want to spend any money on them |
 | News Comment | Keane Looking to Add Strikers to Squad at 00:45:20
Yet another window beckons & we see the same old names as ever; "linked" with him " rumoured" to be signing whoever. Truth is Evans would never pay all that much out to sign ANYBODY, even if Keano did see that "look of character - someone who really wants to come & play here" etc. Lets be realistic, then we wont get anymore dissapointments. We "may" just about squeeze in one of these up n coming lower league hot shots - if we are lucky & the board doesnt think they are "over valued", like it usually does ! |
 | News Comment | Keane: Run Harder To Turn Around The Longer It Goes On at 15:36:24
This isnt a " bad run" - its an embarassment .... better we had lost to west brom as that startling "victory" served only to get keanes head out of the noose for a week or two Truth; any other club in the history of the game would have long ago sacked a manager responsible for such tragic results, had he not already done the decent thing & resigned |
 | News Comment | Clegg: Decisions Made on Out of Contract Players at 03:44:10
i fear we may be about to see the same penny pinching that cost us god-knows-how-many new signings last summer now spill over into the existing team as even those few strong players we still have are advised by their agents to move on rather than stay at ITFC & work for less than they could get elsewhere ( and possibly a lot less ) chances are "if" we get any new players at all in january, they are likely to be more league 1 & 2 cast offs rather than anyone who can make a serious difference at this level. |
 | News Comment | Clegg Backs Keane at AGM at 13:42:09
Is this some kind of joke ? i freaked when i read this. Are we really giving a blank cheque to a man who is losing games like its going out of fashion ? under keane this broken spirited squad couldnt win a pillow fight in a girls school. This latest "endorsement" are words coming from people horribly out of touch with our current footballing reality. We need a new manager, with new ideas - and new players in jan - before its too late .... |
 | News Comment | Town Back in Bottom Three at 02:38:24
RK is a great manager with the right sort of team - we aint it. A square peg in a round hole is a painful arrangement to both parties & keanes uncompromising approach of leaving out key players because of travelling distances, refusing to sign any number of players cos they didnt have that "magical look in their eye" etc, it has cost us. We have all seen clubs swap managers and do far better; Irvine leaves a faultering preston for shef wed and they hardly drop a point, young fergie does ok picking up where he left off and so on. In Roy Keanes tenure at ipswich we see the chemistry just hasnt worked. The thrashing at peterborough was the final nail in the crucifixion of "ITFC as we know it". A ressurrection can only come in the form of an inspirational new manager with new ideas .... if we are thinking it, then surely marcus evans must be looking at his rapidly sinking 16 million pound investment and thinking the same. |
 | News Comment | Keane: Upson Needs to Get a Move On at 14:17:35
i was at the reserves game last wednsday. Devanne Yao was the fittest, strongest and most skillful player wearing either blue or gold - a fact eagerly agreed upon by the city fans ( they outnumbered us by about 200 - 5 ) I couldnt see RK, he must have been in the dugout hiding from the snow. Maybe it got in his eyes ..... Trust me, Yao is a class act & he would be the perfect solution slotted down the left |
