Ashton: We Have to Look at Recruiting a Different Type of Player
at 10:12:14

Ashton is the reason we went down last season yet fans kiss his backside thinking their going to get a lift in the Q8 to away games.
We had the brightest manager in the league, huge backing yet he came up well short. Wise recruitment and we would have stayed up comfortably.
He says all the right things but doesn't fullfill

Burnley Confirm Tuanzebe Signing
at 06:49:25

Dear oh dear the state of some of our fans. He owes us? Like the club gave him some kind of one a kind once in a lifetime opportunity.. he just left one of the worlds biggest clubs and we offered him a year contract.

I think by getting us promoted to prem in his first season that more than repays that??

Then looking at it on a personal offer. He has the opportunity to play in a higher league at a location he prefers, yet he gets chastised for it? Reality is its not even more money.

Give your heads a wobble

Delap 'Holds Manchester United Talks'
at 04:25:40

Dealp is twice the player Hutchinson is. Minus 2 or 3 games he has certainly not lived up to expectations or price tag and some games been very poor. I think he will improve as still young but atm no signs to say we'd get our money back.

McKenna: Finishing Above Leicester the Motivation
at 06:59:53

Buzza delap will return a profit yes but that will cover the waste of muric. Hutchinson double his fees? Come on son we wouldn't recoup half what we paid as paid very good money. So many 10+ million signings i think most have forgot. Not including huge sums spent on loans and their wages that hmwill have no benefit to us next season.
The board will right be pissed off. I genuinely don't think kieran will be the one taking the flack for this season. He's made mistakes but didn't really put a foot wrong last season so still in credit. However being paid one of the top managers in England whilst being in championship they will be expecting the same as last season again.
Ashton and Co however will no doubt been given a talking too.

Morsy: Newcastle Midfield One of the Best in the World
at 12:18:55

Studs straight into the achilles when the balls in front of the player is never a yellow and if it had been other way round we'd be raging.
Tbf from my angle it didn't look bad but as soon as you see it properly you can tell its a shocker.
Posters saying morsy need to go league 1 are wrong. He was head and shoulders above most in league 1 and held his own in championship, hence why we signed him from championship in first place. Reality is was never going to be a star in the prem however he has done better than I expected esp considering age. Think next season I'd still have as a squad player

Season Tickets Up 10 Per Cent
at 15:34:12

Roughly 20% more to sit in the same seat to watch the same league than was 2 years ago.
Only pay for 2 and comfortable so can handle it, however sad to see reaction that others have made. Some people might be buying for whole family. Costing £100s more at a time wages stayed the same and cost gone up.
You can argue for both cases, more money coming into the club should boost the squad but also paying more money for a league lower after facing 2 years of trebble interest rates increases will clearly effect some.
No we didn't have many increases the years before but there would have been riots if they had when we were mid table league 1.

McKenna: No Guarantee Townsend Fit For Newcastle Trip
at 09:44:18

Can we stop saying we have league 1 players. The ones we have playing game for us still maybe minus burns. We are all signed from established championship teams on good money.
Don't get me wrong many aren't prem standard but likes of Davies, hirst, harry Clarke etc were signed from prem teams with the ambition to be prem players with us.
I know the journos like to make out like we're a little team from Suffolk, reality is we owned by a huge pension fund and spent a fortune to get here and stay here. Reality is we are very unlikely to be getting back to our old history but we should be able to become an established prem side

Ipswich Town 0-4 Arsenal - Match Report
at 18:28:18

People saying its ok as we've lost to arsenal at home, what about the previous 6 teams before that!
Then same people saying can't wait for championship! Must be new fans as a few years back couldn't wait to be out of it. I think our main bit of luck is Leicester and Southampton (if no major changes) are likely not to improve. However likes of Birmingham will certainly compete, I wouldn't be surprised if Coventry spend big too as a few teams night think this is a good time.

I still think the manager should stay but owners will look to punish those who squandered so much cash!

Johnson: We've Done the Club Proud
at 11:33:20

Come on man have some pride. This isn't fa cup 3rd round when sime non league teams been knocked out. You were part of are a very expensive accumulated team and have just been relegated. You, Godfrey, phillips, enciso have all been brought in to give us prem experience on top of our big money signings but failed.

Have you embarrassed the club - no, have you tried hardest - mostly yes, but let's not celebrate relegation like we're Luton (who despite spending about a 10th of us finished better off than we will likely finish)

McKenna: Discussions Held With Burgess and Tuanzebe
at 19:49:52

Both very good at championship, axel if not unlucky with injury could have proved himself at premiership.
I think cam will go to Spain if the rumours are true, not any fault of ipswich but he wouldn't want to play there, especially after a season in the prem under his belt.
Think(hope) axels injuries might actually be the reason we get to.sign him again as not sure many much higher will take the risk with his record. Has the ability to play mid prem so would be a coup to keep him.

McKenna Commits Future to Town
at 19:35:51

Some funny folk on here. When the gaffer defends a player on here after a bad game they rightly point out what else you expect him to say. Like others have pointed out this is the same and he's clearly not going to say "no had enough and I'm off to next club that puts in an offer".
I think he will be here next season. Will fancy his chances of getting promoted again and likely to be backed financially. Like others have said he will likely have less suitors this summer after relegation. Also it was widely reported he was made on of the best paid managers last year.

Delap Release Clause £30m
at 18:18:19

Release clause is what is says on the tin, clause in the contract. What ever that figure is a team only has to offer that amount. Why would they offer more???
It's clear delap and agent were confident in his ability and wanted to guarantee he had options.
In reality a ten million profits still likeky over 50% profit.

Ipswich Town 1-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers - Match Report
at 18:29:43

Absolute clueless from some fans. Seriously think the owners will be OK with the amount spent. Agree not in their dreams would they expected to have got to prem that quickly but they backed Ashton 100%. Big money deals for loans, big money for manager extension and 100+ for players.
Those that think we will walk the championship are bonkers. We will definitely be up there but if we play like this season we're not going up and playoffs at best.
