@50yearsablue: Yeah, I hear what you're saying, you can't judge a manager too much on past events . However, I think the point I was trying to make was that, apart from one play-off promotion into the PL, the rest of his career has been full of negatives. I can totally understand why fans would be keen to get him to PR, he's a pretty honest guy and Blackpool play some attractive football, and I will support him 100% if he gets the job, but I'm not convinced he is the man for us. The more I think about it the more I'm swinging towards McCarthy. |

Don't get me wrong, I'm not necessarily against Ian Holloway getting the job. However, people seem to neglect the fact that as a manager he has relegated two teams from the Championship (QPR & Leicester), did a terrible job at both Plymouth (resigned) and Leicester (sacked), only just got promoted with Blackpool through the play-offs before getting relegated in his first season in the Premier League. They now sit in 12th in the Championship with a Premier League team. So, while I admit Blackpool do play some attractive football, I'm not overwhelmed by his career stats and will be pretty surprised if he gets the job considering how difficult it's going to be turning things around here. |
