 | News Comment | Town Announce New £105m Investment From Bright Path Sports Partners at 00:05:11
Announced on the same day as the 20M loss in 22/23, hmmm... We'll take it - of course - but all of a sudden the Gamechanger 20 involvement seems a little short sighted, and did they actually have the money to take it any further themselves other than the 40M they invested? To sell half your stake, albeit them stating its "according to plan", at a time when the club could move into the EPL, seems a little off to me. Surely, at this stage, and just 2 years into their tenure, they would dig into their own pockets for this investment, as it should be an easy sell to their own shareholders, considering the progress we have made (ahead of schedule)? There is next to no information about the Private Equity. The Bright Path Sports website has barely been live for more than 1 year, and the website is skinny with next to no information. Nevertheless, we are getting the makeover to the facilities needed, rather than pure invest into playing staff, and hopefully improvement to Portman Road coming up as well, then long may it continue, but I can't help but sitting back with the feeling of us just being part of a current American fad of investing into British teams. |
 | News Comment | Cook Confirms Reid Joining Coaching Team at 11:16:25
How can anyone rate this as a progressive move by the Club? Reid has managed to complete just 1 full season (Plymouth Argyle 2010/2011) during the past 20 years. He has clearly been unable to add anything of value during this time. If he had, he would obviously have been managing himself. He's done nothing since his days at Sunderland. In fact I bet he will be going on and on about the success he had there. Come on. He is a dinosaur, and a mate of Cook. You'd look for our own Legends to add value based on experience, but Peter Reid. Pointless appointment, which will add zero value. |
 | News Comment | Hurst: 2-0’s a Dangerous Scoreline at 08:12:33
Fourth Red Card of the season, 2-0 up at HT and generally unable to hold onto leads... The squad that PH has assembled is inexperienced and lacks discipline - sort it out... |
 | News Comment | Hurst: It's Still a Bubbly Squad at 07:43:47
Another 7 changes tomorrow and a new formation, probably 5-4-1 or 3-6-1 or something else he has grabbed off Football Manager. A shame, I was really up for a change, but hurts more than anything to keep reading these pressers with zero substance. He is a man waiting to get the kick... |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-0 Bolton Wanderers - Match Report at 19:54:14
If you were ever sold on the idea that PH was going to play attractive football, look no further than the League One table last season. Shrewsbury was, overall, involved in the matches with least average goals per game. To anyone on here who thinks it will ever get better, you are seriously deluded. The idea that PH is "just messing around to find his right 11" - give me a break - a strong leader/manager knows his system, knows his style and knows what type of player can fill the roles. Desperate signings from a manager, who is, unfortunately, way out of his depth at this level - and I hate to say because I want to be proven wrong (I just dont see a single sign of improvement, neither better judgement by the big man in charge). Like Jewell, PH has got another 6-8 games I imagine. Apart from Boro, Leeds and Swansea - we are facing teams at the bottom of the table: Brum, QPR, Millwall, Reading and Preston... I am sure we will take a win or two - otherwise PH has got to go... |
 | News Comment | Hurst: I Really Enjoyed it Apart From Their Goal at 15:32:01
Don't understand people keep talking about "players jelling" or "need more time". PH doesn't know his starting 11, doesn't give players time and doesn't have a formation either. He even changed Bartosz and had to abandon Donachien as we have too many loanees in the squad... You come in you take charge - PH has crumbled already after 5 matches. Bringing in three loanees and changing formation already. As for the football... How can anyone see any improvement from last season - look at the stats... We are playing less short passes and more long balls on average per game than last season... 18/19 season Long Balls: 81 Short Passes: 259 17/18 season Long Balls: 85 Short Passes: 278 So much for better football... I am all behind PH and Team - but he needs to find some consistency. The desperate measures already applied reminds too much of those of Jewell: Silly lower signings and no consistency in team or formation. |
 | News Comment | Milne: Stay With Mick at 12:55:44
Ian Milne, you are as clueless as your predecessor. The only reason why you are not getting rid of Mick is because you will have to pay him out. MICK OUT. |
 | News Comment | Oar Linked With China Move at 07:15:09
'Shame it didn't work out' - really? Clearly he thought he is better than what we have got - but didn't want to stay and fight for his place. Can't see MM appreciating that kind of character so glad to see him leave. |
 | News Comment | Danish Midfielder Joins Academy at 15:52:09
Apparently his attitude resembles the one of a certain Nicklas Bendtner, which is why he had to leave Lyngby at the end. But he's still young and he has got some talent, so worth giving him a chance. |
 | News Comment | Town Confirm Bru Deal at 23:12:02
As most have already pointed out teams that spend money do tend to succeed rather than those who don't, but... Apart from the relegated sides, with the bumper parachute payments, which you cannot compare against, no other team in The Championship have actually paid money for more than 1-2 players this summer. We have gone for hungry players that are at a make or break stage of their career. All in their earlier twenties and with the potential to develop. I look at the teams that finished just above us in the League last season. Brighton have lost Ulloa to Leicester for £7m - and who have they got in? Toke (who?) from Grasshoppers - on a free. Kuszczaks gone too - and they pay £1m for Stockdale. Derby County has only got players on frees - they finished 3rd last season. Should they not spend in order to push for promotion? Blackburn - Varney, Brown and Baptiste, all freebies. Reading - No signings ? Wigan has spent £2m on Oriel from Osasuna - but apart from that nothing, and who is to say he will adapt to English football. Of all the frees - ours actually look promosing... |
 | News Comment | Lee Nets Winner for U21s Against Colchester at 20:30:39
I wouldn't worry about not being appreciated, because we are! I moved to England from Denmark in 2005 and have got to know loads of local fans. I wouldn't exactly say it was a culture shock, but as a Scandinavian you just got to appreciate the English mentality some times :) |
 | News Comment | Town Amongst Trio Targeting Dutch Defender at 12:48:07
Not convinced by this player. He hasn't played in the Scottish Prem, which these days can be compared to League One/Two, he didn't convince on-loan at FC Copenhagen, where he only played 7 matches in the Danish League, and seems only to have played properly for a Finnish side... We got to do better than this... |
 | News Comment | Players Fuming at Ransom Comment at 16:59:51
Clegg Out ! Hadn't it been for the patience of the players we would have been left without half a team for next season. He thinks they are holding the club for ransom, but maybe he doesn't realize that players can negotiate with whoever they want and sign up for other teams with six months or less left of their contracts. |
 | News Comment | Keane Looking to Bounce Back at Norwich at 10:36:54
Seven defeats from the last 10 says it all... The Derby game couldn't come at a worse time, but if Keane wants to change things around and buy himself some more time, then a win up there would do it. However I struggle to see that happening the way we are playing at the moment... |
