We love bees, not least for their wonderful busy creative honey making lives, but not wasps! They have a vengeful sting you back streak dont they? Many years ago, wen my kids were playful 5 & 7 yrs old, I destroyed a wasps nest which threatened their play, games area in our garden. Went back to gardening, forking over veg plot, some distance away, at least 5000 steps, and an outlier soldier wasp zoomed in and stung me repeatedly. Respect! |

After recovering from advanced prostate cancer and a traumatic road accident, hit by a car while out on my bike, I had to learn to walk again. And as a 76 yr old we lose muscle mass and strength anyway. I now walk 5 to 7,000 steps every day, enjoyably, outdoors, meet people, chat and get fit. No need to be obsessed by it, walking is as good as other exercise if not better and it's free! Simple gardening too. Eat healthy, cut out processed food crap and keep walking! |

I dont subscribe to Sky and Now TV hardly ever shows our games. I watch Fawanews football live stream free, every game, no cost, no fees, you get used to the ads and no vpn going abroad. |

The delights of the Suffolk coast have welcomed me back for 50 years. Who remembers the Southwold Dutch Barn cream teas? Walberswick was our fave beach since the 1950's and the North sea was surprisingly warm. I head back up end September to cast my dear bro's ashes and enjoy a pint in the pub. |

Well done for sharing mate, and there is lots of practical advice on here. One step at a time and draw up a simple action plan. Simple things like getting outside even in winter, eating healthy, seeing & sharing with friends will help. Most on here have experienced something similar, and we have all thrived on the wonderful progress and change of fortunes at our beloved club. As a senior going back to standing on a wooden box for a bob ticket aged 10 in 1959, I have seen some amazing highs and terrible lows. I survived advanced prostate cancer and then a year ago I was crashed into by a car while riding my bike! Multiple fractures, hip, pelvis, ribs and learnt to walk again, and all the time, the excitement and friendship of following ITFC has kept me going. Sadly, the journey to PR is too much of a challenge now. So, best of luck mate, and I sure you will be fine. |
 | Forum Thread | Can ITFC help us make more men aware of Prostate Cancer? at 16:28 18 Nov 2023
Following CBower's brave, honest, helpful post encouraging men to get tested, it occurs to me, as one who has survived this horrible disease and made a film about the journey to help men and partners, that perhaps we can approach the Club to help us promote awareness. 1 in 8 men will get it. It doesn't need A level Maths to work out from an amazing crowd of some 30,000 what the odds are. I am sure there are local Suffolk Prostate Cancer charities and support groups who would welcome some form of collaboration. I am happy to take a lead but would be glad of any ideas, contacts, suggestions. Please PM me. The OldGaffer |

Well done for sharing and shouting out! I too had Prostate cancer back in 2015, and am alive and well. I made a documentary film about my journey to help men and their partners.Lots of practical tips to help with treatment, side effects and recovery. It has gone global. Maybe we should approach ITFC to help promote the early tests, as 1 in 8 men will get it. Here is the link Prostate Cancer – One Man's Journey – Meet the people who will support ... https://prostatecancerfilm.com/ Lots of luck at the next stage, we are all thinking of you. |

I spent 10 yrs of my life in humanitarian posts and I worked alongside them in Kosovo, and they were the best international humanitarian agency. They remain so in numerous world wide conflict zones. They deserve our support and I must now renew my annual sub! |

Tricky dilemma indeed! I faced something similar as a student touring US in 1967, with Mick Mills & the great Ray Crawford kicking off. If I was a betting man I would aim to be back for Wembley. We all know in our heart of hearts it will be the play-offs, and we are too damn good not to get to Wembley. You will have enjoyed an amazing year already! |

Good in patches, impressed by Humphryes again. Too many wayward passes are not giving us the shooting opportunities & possesion and dominance in final 3rd. Need another goal to settle us down. Drifters no real threat. |

I have spent many happy times exploring and working in SE Asia. An excellent and fascinating read is The Golden Chersonese by Isabella Lucy Bird. She was a brave Victorian adventurer and travelled throughout the region. Available on Amazon. |
