 | Forum Reply | Turn out average at General Elections is only 46 percent of eligible voters. at 15:24 15 Jul 2024
Or, I would argue that I would prefer fewer people to vote. If you only vote because your mum used to vote for them, then stay at home. Or vote one way because you always have, or don't know the policies, or the leader of the party you're voting for, or can't vote for the other person as you don't know them, then don't vote. Don't vote because you saw a poster once or it was on the side of a bus... At least be somewhat informed about your vote choice, that's what I'm saying. |

I don't really understand this. Did he want to be #1 for us and we couldn't guarantee that as we're looking for a new keeper? So, first choice New Keeper, Walton understudy? |

How do we see the central defense unit shaping up for the new season? I'm assuming that Axel was only covering at right back because of injuries. Does he now become first choice RCD or will Woolfenden keep his place? We've not seen much of Axel in CD but I've high hopes for him. We're looking at Jacob Greaves for LCB so he (or AN Other) and Burgess for that position means Edmundson is surplus. Is that about the size of it? |

I'm excited about having a labour government. They won't have the money to do as much as they want to do, but I just think they're better people. People that want to serve rather than lining their own pockets with ppe contracts. Get rid of the nasty party and get people in who will do their jobs. My only worry is that there may be a few bad eggs get through. I don't know what the vetting process is like. |

Of course we've already had one referendum which the parties are bound by to a certain extent, but how many years after is it acceptable to have another? Best not ask SNP as they love them so much and not very good at them. |

It makes no sense to me why a water company should make profits from its population. It should be non-profit, every penny and more going into maintaining and improving the network. See also the railway network. Slowly remove all these rubbish franchises one by one and nationalise so not to cause meltdown. Put every penny into improvements and maintenance. If a current franchise is doing well, let them continue but make sure the network is joined up. Interested in hearing more about labours plans to create a new electricity company. If its similar to what I have in my head its a gamechanger, but make it competative with eventual profits going to the treasury. |

Genuinely surprised that Chaplin isn't being mentioned more as a makeshift striker. Not suggesting we should stop looking for a new striker, but I'd love to see him more forward while we look for/train up a new No.9. If Broadhead, why not Chaplin? |

For Christmas, I was given a cheap turntable, speakers, and a Bowie compilation album. It was a really nice thought but the quality was so bad it was painful. |

I don't know whether I have my bluest tinted glasses on but I don't see Forest as being that bigger than us. Obviously we're in a different division currently but those positions could be reversed at the end of the season. I think we're safe for the time being, especially where we are. |

We take every game as it comes and try to win each one. We are where we are at the end of all that, and we're doing remarkably well. Waaaay beyond all expectations. It would be mad to go out to lose just so we can consolidate in the top 6. However we can't expect those same players that did so well in L1 to do the same in the prem so recruitment will be key and January will be indicative of our ambition. A similar window to last January would be amazing. 4 players that improve our first 11 make those people think that maybe we can compete in the lower half of the premiership. Then next summer we'd not need such a massive turnover. January is really key! Replace those that are in the fringes with players that could become first choices in the premier league and evolve the team, like we've been doing. |

What's the actual process here? I don't know how much involvement McKenna has. I would have thought Kieran tells Ashton "we need a backup for Morsy". MA then works with the scouting team, which includes a large amount of data analysis, and goes back to KM and says "we have a list of 10 that match that" and weedle them down to possibles? Weedle is a word, right? MA then starts conversations with those clubs at the start of Jan or maybe late Dec? |

I know it wasn't a policy created by Braveman, but we've had 2 new PMs and 2 new home secretaries. I presume only a change of government will cancel it. Cleverly isn't likely make any changes is he this late in the day before the next GE. |

I think it'd be madness to start him. Have him on the bench if he's needed, but we have an international break for him to get fully rested and back to 100%. It mightn't take much (shoulder barge, fall) to set him back. We've missed him, but its not worth it. |
