Like Churchman my first memory of them was 1970 when I was a ball boy. I remember getting George Best to sign the back of my ITFC ball boy pass outside the dressing room. He was very friendly and charming. I still have it to this day 54 years on 😂 [Post edited 22 Nov 2024 13:13]

You must have selective memory loss. He was our shirt sponsor in 2021 and I can remember being near him on a cold frosty night at Colchester. I get it if he’s not your cup of tea but don’t accuse him of not being there in the dark days |

As a retired police officer with 31 years of service I totally agree. The kick and stamp is not justified whatever happened previously. The officer clearly lost it, probably as a result of the assault on his colleagues and his subsequent reaction is a criminal offence. What’s more disturbing is that he was a firearms officer who supposedly is tested and vetted to ensure he has the appropriate restraint and characteristics to deal with life threatening and dangerous situations whist retaining his composure and acting within the law. He must (and am sure will) answer in a court of law after which he will be dealt with under police disciplinary procedures. The same goes for the offenders who assaulted the officers, they must face criminal charges. All too often the courts cause frustration as they fail to give adequate sentences to those who abuse and assault those going their lawful job, not just police officers but NHS staff, Fire Fighters, Teachers , shop workers etc. Officers who break the law need to be dealt with and often Chief Constables have their hands tied with outdated regulations which currently results in a very small but nevertheless disturbing amount of bad apples. That said in this particular case there can be no fear of the Constabulary being able to take appropriate action against the officer once the court case has been dealt with. Police Officers who break the law are not welcome they severely damage the reputation of the police and overshadow all the good work, however they should never be seen as representative of the service as a whole. The vast majority of police officers and police staff do a very difficult job and serve the public to the best of their ability . We must maintain confidence in them but at the same time any criminal, inappropriate and abusive behaviour can never be tolerated and must be dealt with swiftly and rigorously. |

Ninja 15 to 1 Multicooker. Brilliant piece of kit, Airfry, Bake, Sear and Sauté, Slow Cook, Pressure Cook, steam air fry or steam roast etc. Even has a temperature probe to place in your meat, you then select the type of meat and rare, med, med well or well done and it cooks the meat without having to guess a cooking time. I’ve cooked full roasts, made bread, lemon cake as well as Chinese, Indian , pasta dishes etc. Doing a Spanish style chicken tonight, The rice will be cooked at the same time in a pot on a tray above the chicken. I believe they are currently cheaper on the Ninja site (limited time discount ) than Amazon. |

I just treated myself to an enormous TV so I can watch Premier League football next season. Trouble is when I opened the box there was no Leeds 🤣 |

I rarely post but do read the board daily. In one of Mark Ashtons interviews he said there will be a lot of noise, stories and speculation about players etc but don’t believe anything unless you hear it from the Club. If there is something to say it will come from us. No doubt KM will be sought after, his stock is high. Whatever is or is not going on behind the scenes I think we can be confident MA will have it under control. An improved contract or a plan B should KM move on. Players will not be signing for us if they don’t know who the manager is and MA will only be too well aware of this. MA has done a great job and I have very confidence that he is all over this. Personally I don’t think the Brighton job is for him, the Chelsea one is too far of a risk, just look at Potter and Man Utd is too soon albeit that could turn his head due to the past connections. I see him staying and carrying on the project here which will only further increase his worth. What will be will be, those who think he owes us a debt are wrong he got us promoted twice. However, if he stays he could emulate Robson and turn us into one of the big clubs. |
