 | News Comment | Boro Striker's Agent Expecting Something to Happen in January at 18:01:06
Would love to see him in a Town shirt, would be excellent cover for Delap, and Carrick plays similar football to McKenna, so would hopefully be a like for like replacement for our star striker. Still feels surreal that we’re putting £20m bids for players, when three years ago, we were happy with Stephen Ward on a free! |
 | News Comment | Hutchinson: I'd Been Working on First Premier League Goal at 22:39:26
What a performance from that man tonight. After a couple of questionable displays as the 10 behind Delap, he seems to have found his feet in the Premier League, much like when he found his feet in the Championship near the end of last season. Deserved his goal, albeit a deflection of the defender, but deserved it nonetheless. |
 | News Comment | Blues Forward Aluko Retires at 20:14:52
Thank you for all you have done for the club, Sone. Your performances are the start of McKenna’s reign at such an age were to behold, hope to see you in a analyst/performance role as you have been with the analyst team in the media suite for some games this season. But what a career this man has had! |
 | News Comment | Premier League Clubs Eyeing Davis at 13:50:29
I’ve always seen him going to Newcastle; boyhood club, now with ambition and money and a young squad, and with Trippier probably going in the summer, they’ll need a LB since Livramento will go to RB. Would be sad to see him go, but for £20 million +, think of what we could do with that money. |
 | News Comment | Hutchinson in Preliminary Jamaica Squad at 16:51:59
Either option is good for him internationally; of course, Jamaica is nowhere near the same level as England, which limits his hopes of making a major international tournament such as the Euros/World Cup with our vast pool of top-quality players. However, if he stays put with an option to play for England, and gets good gametime at Chelsea, he could very well be a top talent both domestically and internationally, and the call-up only merits his form for us. |
 | News Comment | Cardiff Match on Sky at 14:13:20
That is criminal from Sky Sports - a company that literally last week were promoting “Green Football Weekend” and then ask Ipswich fans to travel halfway across the country earlier than anticipated, which means fans will have catch trains (if they’re not on strike) and if they are, tons of buses which will leave Portman Road at around 4-5am! But hey, anything for the extra money, right Sky? |
 | News Comment | Charlton Hoping to Complete Ladapo Signing Today at 10:23:40
Here we go!!! But credit to Ladapo for doing what he did last season, had some vital goals in vital games - brace v Port Vale, brace v Cardiff this season, is a good player on his day, however don’t think he meets the physical demands of the Championship. |
 | News Comment | Town at Home to Maidstone in FA Cup at 20:37:54
Great opportunity to get into the 5th round for the first time since 2007, but as dirtydingus says, egg on face match, as Barrow and Lincoln have shown us in recent years. But that is the Magic of the Cup, great tie to bring first time fans to as well! |
 | News Comment | McKenna: A Difficult Build-Up and Not a Great Game at 00:04:13
As frustrating as it was to watch tonight’s game, with no real “game-changer” substitutes on the bench, simply due to lack of fitness due to the high volume of games in recent succession, and big games at that, with them down the road, Leeds and Leicester in back-to-back-to-back games is mentally and physically demanding off the players. And to finish the year, 2nd in the Championship, when this time two years ago, McKenna’s first game, 1-0 over Wycombe, put us in 11th in League One. The progress this club has made on and off the pitch is utterly immense, and I wish all readers on TWTD a happy new year, and the Town might just be in the Premier League again next season! COYB |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We'll Learn From Defeat and Quickly Move On at 17:33:48
Great point made, carlo88. Out of the 22 teams we've played in the Championship so far, we've only been outplayed by Leeds and West Brom(managed by Bielsa's assistant at Leeds), and yes the result wasn't great, especially with Leicester on BD, but were fans seriously thinking we were going to turn up at Elland Road, a place where we've won 3 times in the last 20 years and smash them? Admittedly we weren't at the stables, let alone the races, but if someone had said to you at the start of the season that we'd be 7 points clear of 3rd and only lost 3 games, you would have laughed. Keep calm and carry on, ITFC. |
 | News Comment | Town Host Wolves Aiming to Reach Carabao Cup Fourth Round For First Time in 13 Years at 12:51:19
This game reminds me of the Burnley game last season, albeit it the Burnley tie was in January, but this will show us how we can play against Premier League oppostion, and by the looks of how we played v Leeds/Southampton, it looks to be an entertaining tie. With Wolves probably being one of the weakest teams in the Premier League this season, of course, they may play a weaker side but as I say, this could be a bright light into the future for Ipswich Town. Score prediction for me is a 2-1 Town win. |
 | News Comment | Blackpool Among Clubs to Make Baggott Enquiry at 13:18:30
I would personally like to see him involved in the starting XI, can't hurt to see how he would play in this system. McKenna clearly sees something in him, and with youth players starting to get involved with the squad with Scarlett, Hutchinson and Williams. Would love to see him play against either Cardiff or Wednesday. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Walton Ahead of Schedule at 17:07:48
Brilliant news! As good as Vas has been so far this season, especially at QPR, having Walton back, as Kieran says will mean we have two great goalkeepers fighting for #1. |
 | News Comment | MacAnthony: We Turned Down Almost £2m For Taylor at 18:12:49
If anyone was going to make a comment like this, it would be Darragh MacAnthony, who runs a podcast in which he slates his own players! Thinked we dodged a bullet paying 7 figures for a midfielder, when we got one better for free! |
 | News Comment | Magilton, Stewart, Yallop and Garneys Inducted Into Hall of Fame at 02:31:08
Magilton and Stewart have iconic status at this club, giving us memories we cherish when we think of our times supporting Ipswich in the early 2000's in that epic 2000-01 Premier League season, plus memorable moments, including Magilton's hat-trick in THAT game against Bolton, Stewart's double in THAT game against Bolton. Glad to see the club have more than recognised those achievements and they rightly deserve a place in that treasured Hall of Fame. COYB 💙 |
 | News Comment | Mousinho Not Ruling Out Pigott Pompey Return at 22:20:49
Was a Cook signing that got fans off their seats as he was a 'proven League One' striker and had smashed it with Wimbledon the year prior. However, just didn't fit in and didn't find himself in McK's plans. All the best to him, and I hope he smashes it for Portsmouth(just not against us). |
