Bit late but Reading review
at 16:36 11 Nov 2018
Second game of the season, second 2-2. Second manager too!
Anyway, in short-
* First half OUTSTANDING. Great shape, tempo, movement. Very impressed.
Clear tactic to have Skuse very central, Downes left and Chalobah wider right. Skuse dropped in at CB at times to start attacks. Good interchanging. Roberts led the line well.
* Second half - out of juice. Reading made changes, we floundered. As soon as Jackson came on, blimey. Seemed to be as good with offside as Kevin Lisbie 10 years ago. Couldn't hold the ball.
WHY second half didn't we leave 1 / 2 half way line? Zero outball. That to me led indirectly to their second goal. They had time on half way when we cleared it....
Also, the ' pace ' in the back 4 - very poor. Soooo slow. A couple of clipped balls first half caused more trouble than they should. Reading had a clear penalty not awarded first half.
We SHOULD have gone 3-1 up, and paid the penalty for not killing the game first half when bossing it.
That first 45, hand on heart, is the best tempo / shape / movement etc / attacking intent I have since since Joe Royle 04/05 days.
Reckon WBA gate will be surprisingly good

Tickets seem to be shifting with the game 14 days away.
A lot of the posh seats have gone etc.
Be good to break 20,000 for this.
May seem ambitious, however with the offer extended to the Albion faithful perhaps they'll bring a good number.
Yes it's Friday. Yes it's on Sky! I get that.
Chalobah the key today looking at that line up

Downes and Skuse surely deeper.
Frees Chalobah to go higher up the pitch, linking with the wide men / CM in theory.
If he has a good game, we could be in business today.

This press conference might be such a small aspect, but LOVE how he's going about this!
' If the players make mistakes it's MY FAULT ' - YES LAMBERT!
A manager who will keep things internal.
Type of manager you'd play for.

Must confess to not being keen about Lambert........

HOWEVER - ITFC isn't about me. I, like the rest of you, have zero idea as to how he'll do.
Did cracking jobs at Norwich and others.
Unless he starts doing silly things like Hurst pretty much right from the off, he has my support.
Welcome aboard Lambert.
3 wins in 25, can we make it 4 in 26?
at 16:45 24 Oct 2018
Wins vs relegated Barnsley, a Reading side that could be relegated, and a Swansea side throwing the kitchen sink desperate for a win with all manner of attacking players on the pitch.
1 home win in 15 or something daft. Might be 16.
Just quite beyond how dire things are right now.
Lets make it 4 i n 26 tonight pleased.

Lets say Bruce / Big Sam did get the job and stayed a while after.
I happen to think both of them would keep us up.
Sure, I'm not a fan of Big Sam with various things, Bruce has Norwich connections.
However, what I'd like to know is if they played hoof ball which they would etc...... would people still refer to them as ' dinosaur ' and all that ?
Was watching the Bundusliga earlier....punishments
at 22:28 22 Oct 2018
I think it was Freiburg v Red Bull.
Anyway, was only half listening at the start of this but then my ears perked up.
One of the clubs has a ' punishment wheel ' set by the manager. Instead of just fining a player for a misdemeanor, they do things around the club.
Mow the grass, have a day in the club shop etc.
Thought that was a quality idea and gives the players a real insight into normal life / how much people care etc.
