 | News Comment | Townsend Fee £500,000 at 22:14:40
I didn't see this signing coming, but does tick a lot of boxes for us. Get it done! - Robust. Has played nearly all games for WBA as a 1st choice for the last few seasons - Strong character. Was backup captain for Jed Wallace last season, captaining on 9 occasions. So you'd imagine he'll help the leadership group with setting standards and maintaining the culture - Versatile. Primarily a LB, but has played several times as a LM and CB for WBA over recent seasons - Low investment. Relatively small fee and wages keeps our powder dry for the bigger name signings we still need - On pitch quality. I can't say I can recall him playing, but he has been a regular in one of the meanest defences in the Championship in recent seasons (in terms of goals conceded) - Realistic ambitions. Obviously happy to be backup to Davis in the league, and get minutes off the bench/in cup games. Effectively replacing the Jackson, Ball et al from last year |

@BillBlue and Pessimistic - he's not got a bad disciplinary record at all, check the stats again. He's got 5 yellows, and no reds this season (from 34 games). You were looking at the number of times he's been subbed on (6) and off (2). |
 | News Comment | Keane: Scoreline a Bit Harsh at 08:19:00
In the end, a harsh scoreline but a good indicator that Roy needs both more time and money. Davies has had an extra half season to mould his team, and don't forget Forest have spent money getting where they are today - Earnshaw (£2.65m), Gunter (£1.75m), McGoldrick ("undisclosed seven figure fee"), Garner (£1.14m), Blackstock (undisclosed, but sizeable), Camp (undisclosed, but sizable), (McKenna (£750k), and more. Time to judge will be 15 games into the new season. |
