Philwhelansdegree, that town fan on the pitch was the infamous Tony Swallow, Jason Dozells half brother (?). I was at that match. Remember stopping at the White Harr (now closed) on the A140 for a quick pint on the way home. Tasted sweet. We'd been out of the top tier for some time and beat them on our return as I recall. Scum finished third in Premier League that season too :) |

Leadbitter is a class performer but if you think his performance on Saturday was 'Team of the Week' material you are very shortsighted. He wasn't even our best player on the pitch, and this was not a standout game for him by any means. Hence my comment. |

Marcus Evans is not an idiot. He will have budgetted for these losses when he took over the club and his business plan will have included the contingency for us not getting promoted in his first three seasons. He knows you cannot have guaranteed and instant success on the football pitch. I think he is here for the haul. He knows that the best way to get back his loans to the club is to get promoted - not bail out.
