 | News Comment | Rhodes Loan Speculation Resurfaces at 12:06:41
"somewhat speculative piece in The Sun on Sunday" says all you really need to know. That, and BeattiesBackPocket's suspicions regarding ST renewals. [Gabriel Batistuta clearly being no longer available?] |

Good luck, Luca. Keep your head up. You never got your chance here, very sad. Incidentally, is there a team called "Muerte" anywhere in the world? Then the decision would be "Libertad o Muerte"! E65. @delias_cheesy_flaps: I'm sure it's called "insurance" ... Didn't we pay Finidi George £1m to buy him out? That was in very different circumstances, and was *not* insurable. Finidi was a greedy bar-steward, Luca never had his chance courtesy of a devastating injury. Very different viewpoints, IMHO. |

@MarcusSg "If I was a cricket player I might select India first... Not really out of loyalty but because it would irritate Norman Tebbit." 10/10 !!!!! |

Travelling aside (and I think we all understand the issues of international call-ups several hours flight away, etc, etc), I think this could be a great opportunity for both Michael and ITFC, and also the wider scope of ITFC. And even football itself. If he goes for it, it will show that great ambition and hunger are still inside him - excellent factors which could give him a real buzz, and fire him up still further for us at club level. Furthermore, Ipswich has a great ethnic Indian component - it'd be so cool to get them all involved with football and hijack their usual (unhealthy) obsession with cricket. I really, really hope he goes for it. Good luck, Chops! |

Thanks for the reports, folks - really nice to read. The home tie with Fulham in the first week in February will now attract a lot of interest, which the youngsters well deserve. |

Cheers for everything, Brian, and good luck in your next role. I do hope the reasons for the dismal are made public? |

To the tune of "Young, Gifted and Black", Bob & Marcia, 1969 "Young, gifted Colback Oh what a lovely precious dream To be young, gifted Colback Open your heart to what we mean" (repeat) ?????? From an original idea by dazza66. |
 | News Comment | Town Would Consider Ground Sponsorship at 09:11:41
I think Guthrum is onto something ... how about a company called 'Fortress' sponsoring us?? "Fortress Portman Road" has a nice ring to it? As someone who has committed millions to this club, do we really begrudge Marcus Evans a mention? Is 'The Marcus Evans Stadium, Portman Road' so bad? I definitely go with the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand for the south stand, tho. |

 | News Comment | McAuley: My Biggest Ever Game at 18:04:49
Confidence and support are vital for a player, and for a team. As he's not getting either at Portman Road at the moment, I'm happy for him to do well for Nortern Ireland. Keep The Faith, Eif. @Tony - tsk, tsk ... while he's wearing blue ... |

Wasn't expected to even start training until Jan/Feb. Very, very welcome return. @danknott - are you on drugs? |
 | News Comment | Stead and Wood Swap Deal Failed? at 09:51:31
IMO, Stead's heart isn't in it any more, as indicated by his performances this season, especially against Preston. Richard Wood is a former skipper for Sheff. Wed., and would add greatly to my confidence with his addition to our back 4. Being prepared to lose Stead may also indicate that Walters could be pushed up front, especially with Edwards and Rosenior joining. The Wood deal isn't over yet, I'll bet. |
