Oh this so sad. Too gutted to say anything up until now. I feel that we cannot put our hopes on the January transfer window being anything other than a huge disappointment. We need so much in all areas that even with a huge budget we would not achieve the players we require. No player in their right mind would join us now and it would seem that the idea of hungry League 1 players doesn't work either. Inflated prices and lack of financial ambition will see us plunge out of the division. To maintain a mid -table Championship side such as Bristol City an investment of 10's of millions is required and i cant see that happen at Town. Mr Evans will not spend anymore than he has too. With Mick we maintained a modest position in the league but we all wanted more and quite rightly so, The Hurst experiment was and is a failure and the lack of investment is our death knell. The only thing now is our youth, get them in,let them cut their teeth. They will be better players for it and we could reap the benefit in League 1 next year. So Mr Lambert dont' buy overpriced has beens in January, Get the kids in. Let youth and enthusiasm win our hearts , cheer them on what have we got to lose. |

In August 1967 I was that small boy mentioned above in your blog. I have totally lived and breathed Ipswich Town since that day. Sang, shouted , cheered and cried. All emotions but now like you i am engulfed in apathy and sadness. I wont go to games anymore its far too painful and I dont need that stress in my life. I follow the results and instead of being upset and angry when we lose. I now just shrug my shoulders. and get on with life. I still love ITFC but I dont love my football club anymore. I doublt I everwill until there is change in a positive manner. I have said goodbye to the passion I used to feel. I wish McCarthy and Evans would say goodbyre too!!! Excellent Blog and so very true. Thank You. |

Oh dear! Oh dear! Good read Harry but yep, its pretty depressing. I think they got us "bang to rights" on this one. Its all so sad as i would love to see us win on Sunday but cant see it. They will be up for it and I doubt whether we will be. They will want to show us and we will want to hang on. We will be negative and unsure. Not forgetting the curse of SKY TV. I would love to have something to cheer about but it wont be this weekend. Its a very sad time right now being a town supporter. The once proud white horse is now an old cart horse and its bound for the knackers yard. |

Just as we thought. perhaps we should all just stay calm and remember. McCarthy wont go anywhere Evans cant afford to go anywhere This current team are going nowhere The whole club is going nowhere We the fans can go somewhere and we will, Leiston, Needham Market or Lowestoft anyone? Lets face it we could do worse and do so on most Saturdays.!!!!! |

My God!!! Then play the man and give him a chance!!!!!. Clear the midfield of defensive minded dross and let us celebrate youth and creativity and (whisper it )maybe a few goals. A12 or A14 your choice Mick but please please take one. |

Well there you go!!! or perhaps not go next season. I have always supported Mick Mcarthy and his team of well intentioned but tedious buffoons, but there come a time when even the most blinkered and fervent blue can see that this isnt working anymore. Another awful display by a bunch of disjointed misfits against a side that we should have competed against. After all we were at home wernt we? And now we listen to the Mick saying it was ****** awful. Just heard that too many times now Mick. Too many times to think that next time it will be right. Of course it wont be. If you cant get the team playing right after all these dreadful and dire performances then you never will. You may not have lost the dressing room or Mr Faceless Evans but me owd mucker you have lost the fans. I am empty of optimism for the future. How can we ever ever be right again. Please Mr McCarthy do the right thing. The A14 awaits you. I've been told be careful what you wish for!!! really, what in the name of Danny Hegan's bootlaces could be worse than this. |
