I go to Bears (used to go to Q Ball back in the day). Think Premier Pool Club on Duke St relaunched as Premier Sports Lounge a few years ago too, though I've to been since then. Think that was also the site of the erstwhile Neptune snooker club. |

Muric Tuanzebe O'Shea Greaves Davis Taylor Cajuste Hutchinson Enciso Broadhead Delap Rationale: Don't want to reopen the goalkeeper argument (enough threads on that), but to my mind, Muric's ceiling is higher and it's perhaps time to start helping him reach it and rebuild his confidence. That said, I'd be ok with either starting. Wondered about resting Davis and Hutch too, both of whom have played a lot of minutes and could probably do with a rest. I think Townsend has been solid whenever he's been called upon and got forward well a couple of times against Liverpool. Broadhead deserves a start, been our best no. 10 recently and keeps possession well, and Jaden can be impactful for the last 20 mins. Enciso looks quality in the central role, with Smodz hopefully a sub option by then. But for me, the key is the midfield, where we need one solid protector of the defence and another with more creativity, linking up attacks and spraying the ball forward. For me, that's Cajuste and Taylor, respectively, at least for this game. I think Taylor could thrive at this level if given time, and he's always up for a pop at goal. Love Morsy but he's struggled recently and Phillips hasn't been effective enough for quite a while now. |

[long-time TWTD lurker, here; debut poster; hi all, what a time to be a Town fan!) Ioannidis? Nketieh? Broja? Commit to buy clauses? Massive wages for players either yet to really do it or with injury history doubts? I think I'd prefer us to bring in an old(ish)-timer on a free or loan with PL or other top-flight experience who can do a job for us in the number 9 slot when needed, while we develop Delap (who's looked good), get Hirst fit, and give Ali a loan to go play regular football in the Championship (I'm assuming Ladapo is off to Derby). We've got extraordinary attacking options in Smods, Omari, Clarke, and don't necessarily need a no. 9 to bang in 20+ goals (obvs i'd be ok with that too!). But someone with top league knowhow who can also help improve others in training could be the ticket. An Ings, a Giroud, a Depay, etc. Not them obvs but someone like them. Then review things at Christmas. That said, could be a moot point in just a few days ... [Post edited 25 Aug 2024 22:36]
