Boring... It stinks of same ol same ol to me - All very well Jewell telling us the bleeding obvious but it makes me think that he doesn't really have a plan at all. He has bought in loads of players and nothing has changed. He seems like a nice bloke to be fair but unless he starts to turn things around soon people will just lose interest and belief and his recent record is shocking!
I wouldn't be surprised if the team are beginning to think that our fans are unreasonable and if that's the case why would they want to hang around at the club and why would any potential new signings want to come to PR rather than another club where the fans get behind the team. If this section of fans continue to dominate at home games it won't be long before its not just Keane that moves on. People expect far too much and think they have a right to play well all the time and beat all that's put in front of them. Its not going to happen. You imagine you make mistake at work and everybody stands up and boos you and tells you you should be sacked or you should resign and the bloody hell do you think you would feel? I'm guessing you would probably feel pretty damn rubbish and would start to look for an employer and workmates who treated you with some respect. What I'd like to see is a section of the PR that counter these boos and drown out the section of the crowd that thinks its fun to crucify teenagers!!
I am NOT a Keane hater and was over the moon at his appointment but as time goes on it seems apparent that nobody wants to play for Roy Keane through fear or whatever but I reckon joining Ipswich now is like joining the army which is probably the only reason Wickham is hanging around!
I agree with the above comment. It would be absoulte madness if we sold CW for 5 Million. Bear in mind that we would need to get a decent replacement for him and i'm guessing that Connors wages are fairly low at the moment. If we get in a proven striker then he would come with higher wages. So it wouldnt be a case of banking 5 million as alot of that, if not all, would go on the transfer fee and the inevitable higher wages! We already need one more striker and if Connor goes then we will need 2!
Automatic promotion has to be realistic for us this year but i'm a little worried that RK is saying 6th place would be acceptable! What i really want RK to say is that Connor Wickham will be going nowhere? Why has no one from the club came out since the reported 5m (IMHO ridiculus) bid from Spurs to confirm or deny the speculation?
