 | News Comment | Blues Linked With Wales International James at 16:59:51
I'd love to know what goes through the head of some people on here, everyone saying we need another cm and not happy that we haven't been linked with anyone for a while, gets linked with someone and we get "yawn". What are you expecting?? Just no pleasing some people. Looks a very good youngster to have as backup to cajuste and matusiwa |

90z. he also has a knee injury, which i assume was a fairly serious one as he has completely missed pre season and not back in the u21s yet |

What happened to us taking an age to sign players? only mentioned yesterday and signed by the following lunchtime |
 | News Comment | McAteer Fee and Personal Terms Agreed at 09:41:04
ThaiBlue. what have Clarke or Ogbene done wrong? Clarke has only been with us for a season in which he barely got a full game, and because he didn't hit the ground running, fans were on his back. Give him a chance and he will be good, he has looked better so far this season so i can only see more improvement. as for Ogbene, he has only played 7games, so how on earth can you judge him on this? |

"we need to sign some players" then get annoyed when we are about to sign someone. £11.5m for a 23 yr old winger who played 18 games in prem last season, when we got £10m for 27 yr old Broadhead who also played 18 games in the prem last season. And how do you know its a panic buy? How do you know we have lost out on A, B, C and D? In terms of winger, he could have been our A, but we have only gone for him now as we didn't need to go for him as we still had Omari. Don't write someone off before they've even signed. Again. |

Just to add to what I said, a lot of transfers act like dominoes, once a deal is done, it frees up another player to leave and so on |
 | News Comment | Town Eyeing Leicester Forward McAteer at 13:34:40
Why all the negativity? he played the same amount of games in the prem last season as broadhead while also missing games through injury and scored against us. he's got plenty of years in him and looks like a great backup (can't see him being a starter). for the people asking why we need another winger, we have just lost Broadhead and Omari, and with burns out for a few months still, gives us 3 actual wingers. Yes he might not be our first choice, but I don't think a lot of you understand that buying a player isn't just making a bid and boom he's yours, you've got to consider if the club actually wants to let that player go, whether the player wants to leave, and if they do whether they want to come here. Theres still over a week to go which is plenty of time, and deadline day is always the most active day. people just need to understand that teams don't always get who they want, just look at Newcastle who have missed out on over 10 players this window because either the player has chosen elsewhere or the club selling have accepted a bid from a different club. Also, yes we have made a lot of money so far on sales, plus the parachute payments, but we had over £100m net spend last year which we need to cover for FFP. I do agree with us needing another striker and also think we need another left back, but we still have time, and think part of the reason we haven't made loads of signings is because we want to sign the right player, not just anyone |
 | News Comment | Como Striker Azón Set to Complete Town Loan Switch at 10:48:42
for the people moaning about it being another loan and that we are back to square 1, if we don't get promoted with all these loans, they clearly weren't good enough so we don't have to worry about spending loads on players who weren't good enough. would you rather sign someone permanently and they flop and then have to think about getting rid, or a loan which flops then not having to spend the money on them? |

ArnieM i was not aiming my comment towards you at all. I agree that its been frustrating that it has taken a long time to get signings across the line. In this instance completely different as it was Ajax that was causing the hold up by wanting him to go on a permanent deal to get him off their wage book. Could we have gone in and matched Birmingham's offer again and not have all this hassle, i think we could have, but seeing as he stayed in Suffolk during the whole ordeal just showed how much he wanted to sign for us. I am not claiming to be king of anything, just think its ridiculous for some people to be moaning about a signing in a position we desperately need someone in when if we look just 5 years ago where we were and people still dont seem to trust Ashton in the signings he makes |

darkhorse28 if we had signed sammon, it would make me question a lot about the club. Sammon had an appalling strike rate as a striker, and not all the signings we have made I have been completely on board with, but I've trusted Ashtons judgement. my point has been that we need a striker, he is a striker, he's only on loan so i see it as a complete win, even if he is just competition for Hirst |

Some of our "fans" need to bore off. not happy as we hadn't signed a striker, now not happy that the striker we have signed isn't Mbappe. Not sure if any of these "fans" remember the days of having Conor Sammon as our striker |
 | News Comment | Town Look to Gazump Birmingham's Akpom Deal at 10:54:47
Everyone moaning we haven't signed a striker, now we're trying to sign one, still moaning. Middlesbrough's top scorer 2 years ago and played in Europe with Ajax last year, in what way is this not a good signing if we can make it happen? I guess everyone is expecting us to be signing Mbappe |
