MK DONS - SPARE TICKET
at 16:59 11 Feb 2022

Hi all,

I've now got one spare ticket for MK away tomorrow, adult priced so £22, due to a friend dropping out because of potential COVID.

Would need to meet me at the ground as I can't help with travel unfortunately.

Cannot recommend going there enough.

Yes the football isn't of the same quality as the men's game but what can be expected with the difference in money pumped into both?

Have paid £3 per game for both the Norwich match and Actonians match and seen 10 goals in total (7 for Town) and 6 points along the way.

There's also a lot less play-acting and more general respect for one another, which is refreshing to see...

Could Dozzell to Norwich be...

...the last spark needed for Town fans to really turn on Evans?

Obviously the general consensus isn’t good as it is, but a lot still appreciate what he did for us & understand the restrictions we have with the budget this year BUT could this be something really ridiculous to spark some real action?

Burton Albion Today

Full time, beat Chesterfield 5-2. Can’t say they were anything special despite the 5 goals they scored. They play some nice football around the box and love a through ball or two, but their defence looked incredibly slow - Jackson has to start for sure, he could have an absolute field day!

Injuries
at 17:07 18 Jul 2019

They can be freak accidents, unfortunate occurrences and just one of those things...

BUT it's at this point you surely have to start questioning the training/facilities or perhaps even the playing fields at either Portman Road or Playford Road, right?

The amount of injuries we have had, not to mention the similarities in many of them, and also that many are long-term is unprecedented and there has surely got to be something else other than us just being incredibly unlucky?

League Calculator
at 12:36 2 Jul 2019

Have just had a go at Town's fixtures on the League Calculator...

Team Pld W D L F A W D L F A Pts GD
Ipswich 46 15 5 3 43 19 11 4 8 30 24 87 30

Wishful thinking there but I also didn't feel like I was being biased. Had done around a week ago and had us come out on 77 points so I don't really know where I stand for us this season... will be interesting and the first 5/10 matches are crucial to know where we'll stand later in the season, in my opinion.

Odd Thought - Ravel Morrison?
at 15:13 10 Jun 2019

Huge attitude issues at previous clubs but also regarded as being an incredibly talented player when at his best.

Coming to a L1 club could prepare him with the mindset that he wouldn’t be the big guy that he’s previously thought of himself as, and perhaps a little loyalty to a club as we (albeit very hopefully) move our way back up to the Championship in the next few years could settle him back in England.

Recently had a short deal with a Swedish club - anyone think he could be worth a punt on a pay-as-you-play sort of contract?

Can’t help but feel that at his best, he could be great in L1.

100% not me saying absolutely go for it however, would definitely be a huge risk given his previous.

On The Bright Side
at 17:17 2 Feb 2019

At least we won’t have a gut-wrenching final day of the season that sees us stay up/go down at the scoring of a single goal from us or Rotherham.

We can start fully preparing for League 1 now, and despite the postitive talking from Lambert, I think he fully knows this too.

England Premier League Star Caught Taking Cocaine

Any guesses as to who this could be?

Sources quoted saying this was bad for a dressing room that was already not in the best of shapes due to bad form - suggesting that it’s either a lower half Premium team or an underperforming one such as United.

Guesses?

I Don’t Even Know How to Feel Anymore
at 17:04 8 Dec 2018

I have no anger left, not even frustration as this is just expected now.

The only thing is just desperation seeing Norwich get yet another late winner and us just petering out to another pointless result in a season which is just the worst thing I’ve ever seen.

Glad to see Lankester doing well though - must be strange being that young but yet one of the best in the team currently. I do wonder how much of a voice someone of his experience feels like he can have? Can’t imagine he feels he can have much of a moan, even though pretty much the entirety of the team is a shovel of sh*t.

This is Sad
at 23:24 28 Nov 2018

Was saying to a couple of friends tonight that this is all starting to get very real now.

10/11/12 games in a lot of us were saying “we are going down” but half-heartedly, relying on the fact that we’ve been (albeit rather frustratingly) a stable Championship for years now.

However in the last few games, I think it’s really starting to sink in that this genuinely could be time up now.

I got slated a few weeks ago for saying this same sort of thing but all I’m seeing now is up-votes on comments that unfortunately say the same thing.

I appreciate the positivity that Lambert has brought but quite frankly I think it was too late - given that a fresh bunch of faces may not gel until late January/early February, that will almost certainly be too late to avoid the drop.

I will be at Nottingham but can only see the same outcome, and that it is going to fill me with a real emptiness that I’ll see a first relegation (that I can truly remember, was too young to really remember the Premier League drop) in my life.

However as always, COYB.

Agreeing With LeagueOne
at 18:58 10 Nov 2018

I hate to admit this, but I have to agree with LeagueOne’s post earlier marking today as relegation.

We can’t hold a lead, we don’t have quality going forward to finish chances at vital times and we lack defensive and midfield quality to be a stable team across the park.

Looking at our run in of games before Christmas, there isn’t one game I look at and think “yeah we could win that” - the next I think that about is Millwall/Rotherham at home.

By that time I think it’s too late. I can see us being too many points adrift to salvage it - we desperately needed a win out of the last two games and I think, although we’ve been much better, it shows we lack quality.

I trust Lambert, but I think by Christmas we’ll be too far away to be able to salvage our position.

In my opinion, we need a miracle.

Nonetheless, COYB.

A Slight Bit Of Info...
at 11:22 25 Oct 2018

An sportswriter who I've just spoken with (has written articles before for The Guardian and other places) has heard from sources that Hurst will be sacked today, if not then definitely by tomorrow.

To stress, this is not def info, but has some level of credibility due to his career, having almost certainly picked up some credible contacts along the way.

Looking back on an old article from the Ipswich Star
at 13:51 1 Oct 2018

http://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/news/town-takeover-given-go-ahead-1-117764

Regarding Marcus Evans' takeover and what it would do for the club.

1. Transform the Blues from being a club in Administration in 2003 after relegation from the Premiership.

2. Give them the financial clout necessary to win their way back into the top flight.

3. Allow manager Jim Magilton to enter the transfer market when the window opens on January 1 with £millions at his disposal to spend.

It's interesting but also really disappointing to see that despite being one of the furthest ahead clubs in our division at the time in terms of footballs' new financial era, we are now so much further behind than a lot of clubs.

We've seen so many teams go up and down and we just seem to be eternally stuck with the most likely league change direction being down.

When Will Our First Win Actually Come?

The most likely place I can see is at home to Preston - but will Hurst still be here by that point if we haven’t got a win by then?
