Saw this, was going to post, and then completely forgot. Found myself looking in the fridge, but not sure why! |

I was at the Palace vs Wolves game because my neighbour had a spare ticket and the speed that Palace counter is absolutely terrifying - you can see why they have been so successful this season after a tricky start. They had also rested several players, so it wasn't event their full strength team. Wolves just looked like a team of athletic giants, but still with great touch and pace. |
 | Forum Reply | One thing that a terrifies me as a parent of small children at 12:26 3 Mar 2025
I don't think its about demanding a blanket ban, it was about bring the likeminded parents together in the school to discuss what is best for their children. Some of the stats are terrifying, so personally I think the benefits of a smartphone for children are far outweighed by the potential damage, but its up to the individual parent to make that decision. However, I do think it becomes a lot easier as all the parents in my son's year group are in agreement. I don't think a child in primary school needs a phone of any sort, but again that's my opinion for my son. |
 | Forum Reply | Halfway - what an outstanding effort so far from management and squad at 17:43 2 Jan 2025
Interesting that only Burnley improved in the second half of the season out of the bottom three and that was only marginally. It might be because of my blue tinted specs, but I'd like to think that with a couple of additions in January and a bit more luck we could improve by quite a bit. |

If we could unearth a couple of European loans that are at the standard of Cajuste, but in the positions we need, I'd be very please. Of course, the challenge is finding them and getting them up to speed. |

I enjoyed this description of the first goal as well: An opener from Poland that had its origins in Scotland losing possession and Angus Gunn not doing nearly enough to keep out a shot that was launched from about a quarter of a mile away. |

I was driving close to the ground not long before kick-off and I barely saw any of them around, and its not like they are hard to spot in that putrid kit. |
 | Forum Reply | Davis and Clarke down the left is going to be terrifying for most defences... at 12:36 23 Aug 2024
I think what's exciting is the different combinations we have that can be selected, switched during the game, or changed with substitutions, so McKenna can set up the team to target the different strengths and weaknesses of the opposition. It feels like we have so many options now, which hopefully will ensure we are not predictable to play against. Of course, it going t take some time for McKenna to work his magic and it will be interesting to see how we counter teams targeting our left hand side defensively. I can't wait to see how this squad develops. If Davis and Clarke are anywhere close to being terrifying by the end of the season, we should be okay. |
 | Forum Reply | Air source heat pumps at 15:44 23 Aug 2023
Just finished completely redeveloping a 1930s semi so made sense to use the opportunity to install a heat pump, because we could make the property very insulated and add underfloor heating on the ground floor. No regrets yet, but not had a full winter to really test it (only really had the property fully sealed and insulated in March/April time). It is certainly a different way of heating, because its about managing a consistent temperature you are comfortable with, without any major peaks and troughs (lots of trial and error needed to find the right balance). I have four zones around the house, so I can heat different parts of the house and different times of the day dependent on usage. The underfloor heating seems to work well because it keeps the rooms warm for a long time after its turned of. Not sure if there are any implications for only having radiators. Good insulation is definitely crucial - when we still had builders working there with doors open or there were still draughts that hadn't been sealed it was harder to heat and maintain a good temperature. Costwise I don't think it will save me money at the moment because gas is so much cheaper than electricity, but that might change in the future. Octopus does have a tarriff aimed at heat pump owners. This gives you two much cheaper periods (3-7am and 1-4pm), but offsets this with a more expensive peak period (4-7pm). I haven't switched to this yet because it didn't make sense during the Summer when I haven't needed any heating. If you need any other feedback, feel free to send me a message. |

Whereabouts did it happen? I think you can probably check online to see if there is a camera at the lights. These things can happen to all of us. Mine is six now and instead of screaming, he is now constantly checking my speed and telling me to slow down if I creep over the speed limit! |
