I'm pretty sure he did want to stay. He liked it here and did seem to think he would be staying. Hence why he didn't leave a goodbye message. The problem was that Mark Ashton didn't offer them what they wanted for him. The loan we had was with an obligation to buy for £10m if we stayed up, but we didn't stay up. However, we did still want him and so, should have offered £10m, but I believe that Ashton offered less than that. |
