 | News Comment | Town Target Slovenian Defender at 11:15:09
Very quick and strong, look at the neck on him. Seems very one footed, but it's some foot judging by those crosses and through balls. But Frans Thijssen was very one footed and he didn't do too badly for us. If this progresses then the Jewell plan is becoming clearer, Experience down the middle (Ingimarsson, Chopra, Bowyer) with youth, pace and skill on the flanks (JET, Martin, Cresswell, Struna). Beginning to perk up with this squad now. |
 | News Comment | Clegg: No Regrets On Duo\'s Contracts at 15:29:53
All very defensive - 'I'm not going into specifics' 'It's the position that the club took' 'Hindsight's a great thing. We are where we're at' - Feeling the heat maybe? |

 | News Comment | Town Linked With Mackail-Smith Bid at 11:33:48
Mackail-Smith could be a good shout. Looking at the leading scorers in the Championship, Sharp is the only one realistically we could bid for and I'm never sure about Prem players dropping down. Who was it who once said - never sign players who think they are doing you a favour |
 | News Comment | Players Fuming at Ransom Comment at 20:59:48
Trying not to jump to conclusions as we obviously don't know the whole picture but the contract negotiations over the past year have been a bit of a disaster and that is Clegg's responsibility. Maybe Clegg and Jewell are playing good cop, bad cop on this one but you do get the feeling that he is a bit rubbish in this role. |
 | News Comment | Burley and Palace Make Renewed Move for Garvan at 13:56:44
I think he needs to go, an undoubtedly talented but frustrating player, neither Jim or Roy have found the way to make him a consistent performer, maybe someone else can or maybe in a few years we will think £100K+ was a good bit of business. |

 | News Comment | Tottenham Make Wickham Bid at 15:42:51
MAy well be worth considering. Whickham only has a 2 year contract so at the end of next season his value would begin to plumit if he doesn't sign an extension. If as theysay we would get him on loan for a season, it amounts to the same thing with cash in the bank. |
 | News Comment | Memories of Mariner at 16:42:24
My best memory was that he was a quite brillian No. 9 in my much loved Ipswich Subbuteo team! Rarely would a game pass where he didn't score a hatrick, a flicking legend |
 | News Comment | Keane Confirms Klug Axing at 19:15:11
I actually think this is a good move. Klug undoubtedly did well with the youth team and bringing on some of our best academy products but he hasn't been doing that job for some time now and there is little evidence that he has been a great success in the roles he has assumed since moving up from the academy. So it appears that we have a good man in the wrong role. Sentiment has no place in modern football and so he had to go. Maybe a new challenge at a new club is exactly what he needs as well. |
 | News Comment | Loanees This Christmas at 16:25:20
Sorry but when I read that headline I had that dreadful song going through my head "It'll be loanees this christmas" can't shift it now! |
 | News Comment | Sunderland Latest Club Linked With Wickham at 14:08:58
Going to make a rather unpopular comment but maybe we should sell him. It could well be that his value (including possible sell-on clauses) is highest right now. I say this because football has changed, Prem clubs are no longer taking 21-24 year old players from Championship clubs for big money but they are all looking to hoover up the best young talent from around the world (ie 18 and under). If he were to stay with us either we would only get a season or two max if he progressed well, alternatively he may not make the step up and lose his value. It striles me that a club like ours should be looking at acquiring talent around 18-22 that need to prove their premiership credentials. It pains me to say it because I love the idea of developing our own players, but I think this is the way football at our level will be going. |
