We were without doubt the better side and were unlucky not to score. We never really looked like we would concede. I thought Hewitt had a great league debut and, on this form, is going to be a great signing for us. Nouble had a good game too, as did Tabb, Hyam and Dury. At the back Smith and Chambers were solid whilst Cresswell and Henderson did their jobs well. On a separate note, what was going on with the white paint? Stewards wouldn't let us in to the toilets so a policeman suggested that we piss up the wall (and promised that he wouldn't arrest us!). SouperJim, you need to have a word with that Rabbit thing who took your ball! |

Surely if we've already agreed the terms with Celtic then we can't muck this up, can we? |

Living and working in Peteborough, rumours here are that Boyd is on £12k as week at Posh and that he was asking for more from Ipswich. If true, then maybe Evans / Clegg were right not to offer the terms requested. |

A sensible blog. I don't think we're that far off from being a very good Championship team (let's nail this before thinking about being a Premiership team). So, assuming that we're going to persist with the current 4-2-2-1-1 formation in to next season then I'd like to see the squad shape up something like this: GK: New signing / ALB / Cropper RB: New signing / Carlos Edwards LB: Cresswell / Wight CB (right): New signing x2 (1 young for the future & 1 experienced but not too old!) CB (left): Tommy Smith / New signing RM: JET / New signing CM (holding): Hyam / Bowyer CM (playmaker): Drury / Bullard LM: Murphy / Carson Free role: Martin / Stevenson Striker: Chopra / New signing I think we should also keep Murray and Ainsley, possibly loan them out for a season to get more match experience. Get rid of Wright, Peters, Delaney, Leadbitter, Scotland (although he may have one more season in him), Ellington, Sonko, McCarthy. So with potentially 7 new signings required, it may just take 2 more seasons until we have the squad that we need. |

PJ's team talk should have been made a lot easier following Szczesny's comments in all the papers this morning (e.g. how Arsenal are going to smash Ipswich and how they will make hay etc.) and also Fabregas's comments last week. The players should be right up for it tonight. Anyone know a good place near the Emirates where I can park my tractor tonight? |
 | News Comment | Wickham Signs New Contract at 19:03:36
Fabulous news. Connor could easily have moved on to a big club for big money and sat on the bench, but this proves to me that he's got a good head on his shoulders and that he's also got good, sensible people around him providing good advice. There are a minority on this site who don't rate him but the vast majority realise that, for a 17 year old, he's got a great future ahead of him...especially if he keeps his feet on the ground. Anyway, enough rambling...well done to the management team, and well done Connor. |

I would love to see Martin Jol appointed but think that this may be beyond us. Whoever it is though, I think that we must go for someone with bags of managerial experience (and contacts). |

 | News Comment | Clegg: Clubs With Troublesome Fans Should Pay More for Policing at 12:33:04
I really can't believe some of the pathetic comments on here to this article. Firstly, let's make it clear that ITFC wouldn't make any profit out of this...they have to pay for policing for home games so why wouldn't we want they away team to contribute more if the police have to up their presence for teams with "difficult" fans? Secondly, how can so many people make a negative comment about something which is just plain common sense? I'm only surprised that this hasn't been blamed on Keane yet! |
