Progressing nicely for a targeted return end of September i have been told, i'm not sure if that's a return to full training or when he should be completely recuperated. [Post edited 28 Aug 15:12]

Wow, all i can say is they can't have seen any of his minutes for town last year. Forget what league we were in, I couldn't believe how slow and immobile he was, he is a big unit and maybe a 'head it kick it' centre half but as a right back he was ruthlessly destroyed, actually embarrassed, by son. He was like the fat kid that turns up for your sunday side every week that you actually had to let him play one time. Forget he was once a scummer, on paper he sounded like he could be a useful addition last year but wow, why would you sign him?! [Post edited 21 Aug 9:28]

Hursty is great, different to Delap and does not have the monetary value or potential but can do things that Delap can't; I thought he looked an even better player last season then the one we signed, I think the exposure to the prem and training with better players and his international call up, coupled with the fact KM is a fantastic coach who makes everybody better ( even 30 years old plus players )has improved his confidence. KM has also said that he is a late developer as some players are and he is on a steep trajectory of improvement. Not to mention his lineage ( his Dad was an incredible striker for those who remember although different to George ) His work rate has never been in question and to be honest I haven't heard one Town fan say a bad word about him. What i will say I have heard them say, and i agree with them, is that SO FAR ( I hope it changes ) is that he can be a bit injury prone and miss large chunks of the season and THAT is why ' plenty of posters are very stressy 'without another striker, not because he is not good enough. |

Absolutely 100 per cent spot on. I also think in this heavily commercialised world ( we all know it's long ago ceased to be a ' game ' and is a business ) the club has shown a hell of a lot of class in letting him go for free. |

It's well hard! ;0) I think to do it properly you would need a list of every player post Sir Bobby and go from there....I mean even just starting with left back ( and assuming the * players dont make it at Centre back ) Clapham, Leif, Cresswell, *Mings,*Herman, Tarricco, even that's not easy and i have probably forgotten someone.... |

Wright Dyer Tarricco Morsy Stewart I got this far, Keiron Dyer has to be in there somewhere, put him as rb for now, Wrighty in goal gets the nod over Craig Forrest for me 'cos Craig was great until they brought in the no picking up from pass back rule, the rest is really hard, up front: Scowie? Peak 27 goal Murphy? Didzy? Jonno? Midfield Brennan? Gleghorn? Mason? At Centre back, McCAuley? De Vos? Mings? Herman? What about moving KD to right mid and going for Fabio? Billy the fish Neil Thompson? Its making my brain hurt tbh but distracting me from being sad that the egyptian King is off... |

We already have a very good championship squad and you can bet your life that Kieran is demanding more recruits, don't be too surprised if we run right up to end of window before we are finished. Some of you are going to have an absolute meltdown because ( i hope he doesn't go ) if we are offered 35-40 mill for Omari on payment terms that suits us and he wants to go, we won't stand in his way. ALSO, i am gutted to tell you that I am told def info that Broady is off to Wrexham, not really a secret on this board, as done a deal as you can get and they have already agreed personal terms ( 35k a week! ) maybe ITFC have said it won't happen until we get a target in so as not to unsettle our fans ( further ). They have also offered for Woolfy,as have other championship clubs, i hope he choses to stay as well but he could end up going. There is no need to panic though, we just have to be patient. I'm sure we will be there or thereabouts at Christmas with room to get 2 or 3 in if needed and you all remember the championship; put a run together just after and it will take you a long, long way. The club staff and board will absolutely be targeting promotion, as fans we can look forward to the season and be optimistic of the same but we know it will be tough and a very differant gig to the under the radar double bounce of last time we were in it ( see Birmingham for context ) Up the farkin Towan! Well unless you are Omari's agent or someone involved with transfers at the club Illinois, Omari may well favour a move, but unless someone reaches the figure of £35 million ( allegedly rel. release clause ) , than he may not be going anywhere? |
