TBT. I don't comment on here often but I need to reply to you. You have a very simplistic view of the world. Stats don't lie about stats but they don't show how a player was played by his manager, what his role was, how well and what system the team was playing, etc. However, all of that is missing the point, Hurst knows what system he wants to play and what role he wants Jackson to play within that system. This is part of the reason a player like Waghorn can come here and have a good goal-scoring season after an average one with another team, he's played further upfield or more central or with players he clicks with or whatever. We shouldn't look at the individual players coming in, we need to reserve judgement until we see the results of the sum total, once they are playing as a team. If Hurst gets it right, and I have faith in the man, as should we all in these early days, I believe we will have a team of which to be, rightly, proud. Understandably, this may take a few weeks or months. Until the day we spank someone of quality, our part as fans is to show support for effort when things aren't going so well, and ear-drum bursting volume from the stands when things go swimmingly. All talk on here is just wishful thinking and speculation from people whose hearts are in the right place but, maybe, their brains aren't. Keep it light, keep it entertaining but keep yourself calm....and carry on! |
