Evening Delighted to say that the first few hundred copies of Paul's autobiography are due to arrive at the publishers this week, en route to the Ipswich Town club shop ahead of the home match against Rotherham United at Portman Road next Tuesday (23rd November). The current plan is to have a signing session in the retail store at the stadium before that game. The club will also donate 30% of all profits on all sales of the book through Ipswich Town FC to the Brain Tumour Charity, the Mariner family's chosen charity. The club has kindly invited Paul's partner, Val, and myself to be their guest at the Rotherham game next Tuesday, with Paul's son George in attendance at the game against Crewe the following Sunday. Can I please thank everyone who got in touch with memories of Paul's time at Ipswich - the stories were all fantastic, and hopefully you'll enjoy the rest of the tales that are told in Paul's book. All the best for the rest of the season, and I look forward to my first ever visit to Portman Road next Tuesday. Mark Donaldson ESPN |

Currently hard at work on Paul's book, but the front cover design has now been signed off. https://reachsportshop.com/book/paul-mariner-my-rock-and-roll-football-story/ Interviews in the can with Terry Butcher, Russell Osman, Mick Mills, George Burley, Kevin Painter and Pat Godbold (ex-ITFC secretary) among others. And the foreword by Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan contains some amusing anecdotes about a wild night on a party barge at Ipswich Waterfront. The book is due out at the end of October 2021. Evening. Quick update from the original post on 03 March about a potential Paul Mariner autobiography ... Delighted to say we're going ahead with the project, with the book hopefully available by early 2022. If anyone has any personal stories or favourite memories about Paul during his time with Ipswich I'd be grateful if you could share them by emailing book@paulmariner.com or [if it's ok to do so] by replying below. Our thanks in advance, Mark and Paul |

Evening Just a quick post to try and guage how much interest there would be among Ipswich supporters if Paul Mariner was to release his autobiography? I've worked with Paul at ESPN for many years - he's now moved back to England, I still commentate on football over here in the States - and we've had conversations about potentially doing a book together with me ghost-writing it for him (as I did with Steve Nicol, who Paul worked with at New England Revolution and at ESPN). All feedback is welcomed and will help us decide if this is an idea worth pursuing. My thanks in advance, (and apologies if this should have been posted in the GENERAL thread instead of the FOOTBALL one!) Mark Donaldson [Post edited 18 Mar 2021 21:35]
