Anyone who was at Old Trafford that season will have very distinct memories of that shirt seared into their brain.

I seem to recall a few people at the time complaining it was the “wrong blue” and that it looked more like an Everton shirt.

"well that'll spark debate at halftime / on Match of the Day tonight" chills me to the bone as it inevitably means ten minutes of inconclusively going through frame-by-frame replays of VAR decisions like they're the Zapruder tapes while Alan Shearer does his "you couldn't make it up" peeved face over something that fundamentally doesn't matter

An interesting old view of Portman Road

I think the portmen of Portman Road were the men who ran the old Corporation of Ipswich which governed the town between 1200 and the reform of the nineteenth century. Like “aldersmen” in the Corporation of the City of London.
