Cheltenham Town 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report

I know that it takes time to settle a raft of new players and the season is 46 games. But it seems that all the issues and frailties are still here. Can't defend, can't hit the target more than a couple of times ........ but can have all the posssession. Well, we will win that stat everytime if we are passing left side to right side to back side .

Am I seeing a recurring theme with our last 3 permaent managers??

All called Paul!
All born north of the Watford Gap!
All stubborn in the way they set up their team!
All got thier heads, shoved up thier own backsides of self importance!
All full of crap excuses!
AND it's always everyone elses fault but mine we lost!

We are lower in the 3rd tier of the football league, then I can ever remember. NOT acceptable for my beloved club!!

Please Gamechangers - when you replace the manager ................. don't get one called Paul for God's sake!!!

Sunderland 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report

I was critical of Lamberts philosophy of pass left, right, backwards and then to the keeper - only playing in 2/3rds of the pitch (middle and our defensive). But in the second half, we were slightly on more on the the front foot and made Sunderland uncomfortable. But never really threatened to score, other than Lanks effort. Even after, what appeared a harsh decision of Andre's red card ...... we still looked able to see the game out. Step up the Referee and give the most ludicrous penalty EVER!! And the best of it ...... he just walks away and doesn't stand accountable for his actions.

Town didn't deserve to lose or win this game. And decision slowly don't level themselves out.

Still don't understand PL's philosophy of passing for passing sake ....... will never win a game with both teams passing towards Towns goal. He is making it so easy for teams to play against us. It is negative football - just as much as McCarthys ‘hoof ball'. How we are level at g Ur halftime is unbelievable.

Watched the game today and must say that playing out from the back SHOULD only be done with players comfortable and able to do so .......... which Chambers, Nsiala, Ward and Donacian aren't able to do - at any level it is asking for trouble!! So why persevere? We will struggle and look incompetent at the back all season long.

Judge and Nolan, slowed the play down and never had their heads up - looking to try and go forward. Always passed the ball short, square or backwards. Hughes was the complete opposite ..... injected drive, head and tried to play a forward ball as 1st option.

Ward was slow and out of position, too often ...... young lad Smith was far better, when he came on. Perhaps give him a chance to see what he can do.

Drinan toiled away up front, with out much joy - mainly due to the lack of service ...... but he never gave up running or trying.

Pre-season results should matter, regardless of the opposition. It builds shape, communication and confidence ....... none of which the team has at the moment.

But then again, what do I know ..... never played to any really standard, rubbish at FIFA20 .................but passionate about my club #ITFC forever
