The driving is gruesome, and I got mugged in Palermo. But I’d go back in a heartbeat, (seriously). I love southern Italy. |

Visited last year at around this time. Worth visiting are, University Square (Piața Universității) it’s quite picturesque, buildings wise. The small Old Town (Lipscani Area) is cool, and worth a beer, (or eight!). The Stavropoleos Monastery is very much worth a look. Caru’ cu Bere is a famous 19th-century beer hall with beautiful interior architecture. The CEC Palace is worth a look for its impressive glass dome. And of course the former Communist Party headquarters at Revolution Square is a must see - fountains not working when I was there, sadly. All the above are no more than 10-15 mins walk from each other, so easily managed within an hour - unless you enjoy the Old Town bars too much! Have fun. |

Yikes! How on earth will you cope, there are only 3,499 other pubs to choose from in London. |

London Pride for me, I much prefer Fullers’ range of beers to that of Adnams. Soz for the controversy. |

WARPIGS BREWPUB Flæsketorvet 25-37 Very central. Great beers and great food in what was once the meatpacking district. Bought the t-shirt! 👌 |

Was too young to go but I do remember the 10-1, post-Christmas, alcohol-induced, away defeat vividly. However, I did attend the superb, but unexpected, 4-2 victory at home a couple of days later. Bonkers! 🤷🏻♂️ |

I’m with you. I remember plenty of gigs in town around that time and, although we caught the Bournemouth gig because we were on hols there, I certainly would’ve been aware of any gig in Ipswich. I can’t imagine Kraftwerk would divert to Ipswich from Newcastle en-route to Bournemouth unless they’d been specifically booked to play there, though stranger things have happened. The plot thickens. 🤔 |

I was on holiday that summer and caught them at the Village Bowl in Bournemouth on September 7th, the night after their (listed) performance at Ipswich. Given the band were relatively unknown at the time I’m guessing the gig would’ve been held at the Civic College, now the Uni, which also hosted Genesis in 1972. Other options would’ve been the Baths Hall which hosted Led Zeppelin in 1971, or the Manor Ballroom. I’m pretty certain they wouldn’t have played a relatively large venue like the Gaumont at that time. Those were the days! |

Have to agree. After a display like that most fans want nothing more than to show their appreciation, and it certainly killed off some of that atmosphere. As too did the playing of EEJB which followed, imo. But each to their own, I guess. 🤷🏻♂️ |

Many moons ago myself and a couple of mates were being driven home from town by the father of one of these mates. He asked if any of us were interested in politics, we all said no. He replied, you will be! Of course, he was right. Like you I’ve never felt so angered by a government interested only in enriching itself at the expense of the less privileged. A government led by a narcissistic liar, so corrupt and self-centred, he persuaded the country to curtail its freedom of movement and vote itself out of the largest trading block in the world. A government aided and abetted by a right wing media and a tax-avoiding elite who convinced the country’s flag-encrusted, racist, knuckle-draggers, that the Romanians were after their jobs. In fact, angry doesn’t begin to describe my feelings… as you can tell! 🤣 |

Split is lovely, and a less touristy base than its more popular neighbour, Dubrovnik, which is nevertheless a must-see. The country itself is beautiful and the Croatian coast boasts the clearest waters anywhere in the world. Enjoy! 👠|
