Am I the only one who noticed that he did a 360-deg look back at the stadium before going down the tunnel? Seemed like it was one last look before he was off. |
 | Forum Reply | Anyone else struggle with persistent coughing? at 08:44 23 Apr 2025
My sympathies. I have endured a cough for over 40 years. Have had all the lung tests (nothing wrong with them, as expected, as I'm a good swimmer), etc and finally last year, after a visit to Chest Physiotherapy it was diagnosed as sensitive airways, aka Cough Hypersensitivity. It is triggered by things like cigarette smoke, scented candles, etc, but also random changes of temperature/atmosphere. I have been advised cough suppression techniques as well as chewing gum and sipping water. It is now less bad. Sadly, there appears to be no cure and GP's appear to know nothing to little about it. This is perhaps insightful but not much help to you! Fortunately, my friends and fellow ST holders near me are understanding. |
 | Forum Reply | What sort of price would you expect for a new door at 09:28 7 Mar 2025
Would recommend Wade Windows. As others have suggested, price would be around £1500 for composite door and surround. We had front and back doors done 3-4 years ago so price is a guess. Recommended Wade's to a friend last year and she was very happy. |

We've had a Monarch for 15 years, with only one problem/service after about 10 years (using Monarch engineer). About to change it for same make but using salt blocks instead of 25kg bags of tablets (too heavy). Plumber said he always recommends Monarch (last longer). Wouldn't be without one. Hope this helps. |

Is it just me, or did anyone else think Chelsea were sore losers last night? Fancy being beaten 2-0 by "little old Ipswich". Ha! |
 | Forum Reply | How was Saturday for you? at 09:07 20 Aug 2024
It was exciting and wonderful. More than lived up to expectations, apart from the result. A fan since 1968, and regular attendee in the 70's , I missed seeing us in the Prem with two young boys to look after and then financial and time constraints due to working full time. A couple of years ago, I had actually resigned myself to never seeing us at the top table, so Saturday was brilliant for me and payback for 20 odd years of dross. |

One thing to bear in mind, elite swimmers need to train in 50m pools and there aren't many of those in the UK. London, Bristol, Sheffield, Manchester, Norwich, Glasgow? And that's if they don't put a boom in the middle to make 2 x 25m pools. Not quite as easy as going to your local running track and even at 25m pools it would be difficult to get pool time in the day. |

Well done on the weight loss challenge - amazing self discipline. My father died of bowel cancer in 1985 aged 60, sadly not living long enough to get to know his two grandsons, of whom I know he would be very proud, so I have been pleased to donate. Good luck! |

A superb actor. Good in Citizen X, a film not shown on TV very often and, of course, Oddball was great! |
