With his communication skills you wonder why he's not had a better time as a coach... |
 | Forum Reply | Delightful score, but tighter game at 10:08 13 Sep 2025
Was a very interesting first half, as they came an overran us in midfield and stopped us advancing through the middle third really effectively. We struggled to build any of the possession or control you'd expect from KM's team. We looked the more dangerous, but not in the usual style - focusing on our shape without the ball. We looked like the away team at times - quite happy to sit in low and defend the cross with a lot of bodies behind the ball, limiting them to very little but at the expense of control of the play. We allowed them to recycle far too often for my liking at 1-0, because you know you're an unlucky bounce / deflection away from the momentum swinging. The second goal puts that all to bed and we just progressed through the gears from there with some excellent performances. Sadly for the Blades fans they have the ability to be dominant in the middle of the park but were dismal at both ends of it. I can't see Selles lasting beyond Monday lunchtime. I think he's probs just leaning over the line of the defender's foot. Shame, as it was a lovely move and finish. |

Need to see it again, but looked off on the replays on Town TV. |

To be honest, I think most accept that the link up will come in time but his touch seems to have gone down the toilet in recent matches. If he manages to control the ball more he'll be absolutely fine. For his lack of contribution last time out, he won what should've been an obvious penalty that (if scored) would've got the monkey off his back and brushed a lot of the rest of the performance under the carpet. I think he'll start. |

Sailed through - 70 odd people ahead of me and 2 minute wait at 10am. Still managed to buy tickets in the wrong stand. Ho hum! |
 | Forum Reply | Furlong for Young vs Sheff Utd? at 20:05 30 Aug 2025
I thought Young looked pretty assured up until about the hour mark. He reads the game as well as you'd expect for someone of his experience, and his set piece delivery is a real weapon. Then that suicidal dink across our own box, after which he spent 35 minutes looking like he had his boots on the wrong feet. Rotation will be the name of the game for those two I think. |

Looked sharp in what I saw of him in preseason, but agree every second touch today was a tackle. Needs a goal, perhaps. |

I really really really do not like O'Shea under those long high balls. He gets caught under them far too often. |

At least watch until the end if you're going to tell everyone else to wake the f up. Whopper. |
 | Forum Reply | Lewis Miley loan bid rejected at 18:58 19 Aug 2025
It does say formal enquiry rather than bid, and this is lodged with the club first before we speak to any agents from what I understand. Google AI summary: Tapping up is an illegal approach to a contracted player without the prior written consent of their current club, violating FIFA and league rules like those in the Premier League. Any club, official, player, or agent must get written permission before approaching a player about a transfer to prevent disputes and ensure fair play. Violations can lead to fines, transfer bans, and points deductions for the offending club. Key aspects of the anti-tapping-up rules: Written Consent is Mandatory A buying club must have written permission from the player's current club before initiating any discussions with the player or their representatives. Direct or Indirect Approaches are Banned Any contact, whether by the club itself, an official, a player, or an agent, is forbidden without prior approval. Agents' Role Agents cannot advertise their players to prospective clubs or discuss deals without obtaining the current club's prior written consent. |

He's certainly flying at AZ Alkmaar. We'd be crackers not to consider it IMO. |

They got themselves together long after we played them. IIRC they were a point above us after a handful of games, looked absolutely dismal until January and we never laid a glove on them. |
 | Forum Reply | We are 11/10 with most bookies at 13:52 18 Aug 2025
Probably because they recognise we've still got at least 2x more eight-figure deals to do and no more of our best players are likely to leave. We've just matched the other shortest odds Birmingham (3rd) and Southampton (2nd) despite the turnover and being far less settled, and should only improve. [Post edited 18 Aug 14:27]

 | Forum Reply | Palmer’s first touch at 10:48 18 Aug 2025
For balance, Hladky looked like he won a raffle to play in goal his first season, and even after becoming a complete revelation for us in the Championship, popular opinion on here was that he was not good enough for the Premier League. I think all of us would take Hladky of 23/24 back, but lots of water has passed under that bridge since. All Championship keepers have glaring limitations. Palmer was brought in to solve a Premier League problem - he's not as well suited to our system in the Championship but let's see how he develops with game time and coaching. I would guess we've faced 2 of the best pressing sides in the League in our openers, without the luxury of a settled midfield and missing Morsy's ability to take the ball under pressure. For me, I'd like a larger sample at this level before we write him off. |
