Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-1 Town - Match Report
at 14:38:21

Loved Sears running all the way back to our corner flag in the first half to help the defence shield Sako out of play. What a player he is!

Town 3-1 Cardiff City - Match Report

@ gorse

That's fair enough. I can only go on what I saw yesterday, which was 'kick and rush' style of football that I'd only expect to see at U8 level!

I think you're doing Murphy a great disservice if you think aiming for his head brings the best out of him. Yes he is a great target man, but importantly he has great feet. I'd say about 60-70% of the high balls we knocked forward yesterday ended with Cardiff possession. If we tried to get the ball into Murphy's feet a bit more I think we would have carved out a lot more chances. It would also make our play a lot less predictable.

If I'm honest I think you're a bit deluded if you think we deserved a 2 - goal win on that performance. Skuse goal came out of nowhere, without that goal we were in trouble. Fabio missed a sitter and someone else poked one wide quite late on. Yes we hit the bar but think Berra would have done well to score from there on his right. Very small margins that went our way last night and I think without a bit of luck result could have been very different!

Town 3-1 Cardiff City - Match Report
at 00:51:17

Tonight was my first game at PR for a couple of years. I'd braced myself for seeing a lot of high balls but I was genuinely shocked at the number of aimless punts forward we made. Don't get me wrong, we had a squad of players that ran themselves into the ground, but that was without doubt the worst "footballing" display I'd ever seen. I've seen a better standard of football played in my Sunday League! I can't even remember us stringing 3 or 4 passes together.

It's worrying we have a class defender in Mings but his first instinct is to lump the ball up in the air. So many times he had the opportunity to retain possession, work a 1-2 or attempt to beat his man and deliver, yet there is a real lack of ambition if he is happy to lump it long. Thank god we have Sears in our team as without him we'd be so predictable.

Although a good 3pts, still a lot of work to be done. If we were to play like that in the Premiership I think I'd rather we stayed in the Championship. Hopefully Williams can get himself fit and have a big influence on the way we play our football. I don't want Ipswich to be known as a second rate Stoke.

Jewell Confirms Meite at Town
at 20:47:22

Is it a coincidence Meite comes on trial a few days after we play Mowbray's team? Mowbray probably suggesting we give him a trial. Jewell should be looking for his own targets and not be drawn to names or reputations. I Don't understand why we're not looking in the lower leagues because there are players like Chris Smalling out there that would jump at the chance of warming our bench, yet have the potential to be great players.

Palace Linked With Delaney

Surely it would have made sense to hold out til the end of the window, and if no one made a bid for him then terminate his contract?

Delaney in Exit Talks
at 14:53:08

This is crazy. If he wants to play regular football he needs knuckle down in training and displace Tommy Smith from the team. We're making it far too easy for players to walk out as and when it suits them.

Stevenson Set for Return to Scotland
at 17:10:33

Bit disappointed with this. Jewell was moaning we have too many 'nice' footballers. I understand Boyd would probably go ahead of Stevenson in the pecking order but Stevenson is probably one of the few that can do the dirty work and grind out results. Don't think he's had a fair chance so I can understand if he wants to move away.

Premier League: Gordon, Bardsley,Hutton, Hanley, Berra, Caldwell,Adam, Fletcher, Dorrans, Morrison, Bannan, McArthur, Maloney, Goodwillie, Mackie
Championship: Marshall, Crainey, McManus, Conway, Snodgrass, Robson, Phillips, Cowie, Bryson, Mackail-Smith, Miller

I suppose I'm still deluded? How many of those players would you be disappointed if we signed this summer?

Stevenson: No Regrets at Missing Cup Final
at 12:13:25

Not good enough for SPL?! How did you come to that conclusion? You don't get a call-up to the Scotland squad if you're not good enough for the SPL. The majority of the Scotland squad is made up of Premier League and top Championship players.

Town to Sign Hearts Midfielder
at 18:37:39

Some of you don't have a clue! You moan the signing isn't a defender but we already know we have a bid for two defenders being considered!
As for Ryan Stevenson himself, a great signing at £50k. If it doesn't work out we would easily be able to move him on for more. If it does, it's a bargain. Having watched him play numerous times for Ayr United he has scored some great goals and isn't afraid to shoot. He's proven himself in the SPL and if you're still unsure have a look at the Scotland squad and tell me which one of their players wouldn't slot right into our team right now?!

West Brom in Fülöp Talks

If we let Fulop go and sign another keeper, how are players like Cropper ever meant to make it into the first team if they've got two players ahead of them?!

Jewell: Embarrassing Scoreline
at 23:34:57

In my opinion McAuley, Bullard and Drury were the only players that deserve credit from that game.

As a team we were just too deep and inevitably every time a cross came into the box there was only one striker against four defenders.

Norris was invisble most of the game and Leadbitter seems to cover very little gorund.

If we put more men forward rather than just sitting back we might actually have an end product rather than the attack breaking down and having to face a counter attack, which we can't seem to deal with.

Townsend to Return to Tottenham
at 22:18:14

This lad was never given a real chance. Everytime I've seen him play he has been a class above, one of the few players we've got that has the ability and confidence to take a man on and create something out of nothing.

There is no doubt Keane has had a fallout with him. He should be playing his best team each week however he seems too scared to drop his favourite players like leadbitter when they're not on form and so players like colback are playing out of position.

On a positive note, heres an opportunity for o'connor/peters to stake their claim for a place in the team; two players who I feel are unlucky not to be regulars.
