 | News Comment | Keane: Nothing New on Stoke Target Walters at 10:00:14
Am i the only one who thinks Stead is actually a bloody good player. No, not a world beater, but well worth keeping and as good if not better than most (if not all) of what we've got ?? I don't get to see many games from the other side of the world, but was at PR for the QPR game last Christmas and he was absoloutely superb. Scored 2 great goals and really unlucky not to get a hat-trick. I will bow to the expereince of those who have seen him more, but every time i've seen him he's given 100% and looked to be a really decent player. Great as a back up if nothing else. Am i missing something ? |

Good signing at a good price. Nice work Keano. Just noticed today that Darius Vassell and Jeremy Alialialialiadiere are both free agents without clubs. Anyone ?? |

Bite their hands off ! Excellent in his first season.......7 shades of average ever since. Brilliant piece of business Keano. I hope fans will give him credit. |
 | News Comment | Keane: Scoreline a Bit Harsh at 01:38:06
Northerblues.....you either have a very short memory or are a massive drama queen. Sure it has been a very poor season. no arguments there, but lest we forget......The diabliocal teams of the late 80's under John Duncan with the likes of Graham Harbey and when our attacking options were the likes of Neil Woods and Ian Redford......The Class of 95 which embarrassed us week in week out with the hihg class midfield of Steve Sedgely and Gerient Williams (With the ever solid Eddie Youds behind them !)......and the facelss commitmentless teams of Magilton for 3 or 4 years. Bad yes, but most of that from a horrific start which to be fair has been put right to some extent (Although there is some way to go clearly !). We have gone from a team with no wins, in bootom place, and favourites for relegation to a team who will likely finish in the top half (Yes higher than under the previous manager !), who have had more shots on goal than any other team in the league, and whose 2nd half of the season form is actually better than those who will finish in the play-offs. Disappointing season - yes. Progress being made - yes. Worst season in 37 years - NO. |
 | News Comment | Town Swoop for Healy in Addition to Murphy at 16:06:27
Brilliant ! I have been waiting for the whole transfer window for Healy's name to be mentioned and been amazed it hadn't. Finally with an hour to go we hear he's on the agenda. Murphy i could take or leave (Although my Sun'lun supporting mates reckon he is a pretty decent player at Championship level), but Healy would be a great signing. Just what we need. There are so few naturaql finishers around these day and within our possible reach the only 2 names were Healy or Kevin Phillips. I'd have taken either but Phillips is 37 this year, Healy is 30. Stead and Healy up front please ! SOOOOO hope this goes through !! |
