Duo Unavailable for Aston Villa Tie
at 13:26:55

Agree with daniel9624, Villa are there for the taking (although they can feel unfortunate not to take 3 points at Swansea yesterday) and we go to Villa Park with nothing to lose.

I'm unsure of Orr personally, but I've heard good things regarding young Hewitt. Should he start, which I hope he does, it's a good opportunity for him to show McCarthy and the fans what he's capable of and maybe make that position his own, although it's early days in his development and maybe next season will be a realistic time for him to be a first team regular.

It's also a great opportunity for Loach and Chopra, to show McCarthy what they can do. We're going to miss DJ and the reassurance he gives us of goals, so players like Chopra really need to step up to the mark and prove his worth to McCarthy. McCarthy has spoken highly of Chopra in the past, and we all know that he's a real goal threat at this level when his mind is right.

I can't wait for Villa now, it's going to be a great day for all and hopefully we can come away from there with a positive performance and result. COYB!

Davies: Town Deal Just Wasn't Going to Happen
at 13:06:03

RFIP- Interesting what you have said. I spoke to a friend who is also a rams fan, who said something similar but also said that the Derby board and Davies, were getting fed up with us for dragging this deal/interest out since May. My friend also said that he feels that the Derby board were reluctant to do a deal with PJ, as they still hold a grudge about his time as manager with you and the money he wasted?

The whole 'moving closer to London' is that didn't specifically want to be closer to london, he simply wanted out of Derby altogether for 'family reasons', with the rumours up there is that Mr Shackell was naughty with Mrs Davies, which is also why Shackell went on the cheap to Burnley in the summer? But you guys got Sammon so a good replacement for Davies.

I do reckon that we were probably Davies first choice of location, but we simply dragged this saga out too long. It's a big shame as he would have been a good signing for us, and if he keeps fit and injury free he will score goals at Bristol. We simply have to move on and presume/hope that PJ has other targets as we need another striker ASAP!
