 | News Comment | Released Blues Youngster Brown Joins Welling at 20:06:40
My wife comes from Welling so when we're visiting friends there and there's a Wings home game on, we go see it. After the Town they're my second team so hopefully Kai can be part of a promotion into the National League Premier. Best of luck to him. |
 | News Comment | Owner Evans on Cook, Lambert and Takeover Talk at 11:41:08
The very handy financial breakdown of Marcus Evans' time at ITFC back on page 2 provided by shortmarine1969 (many thanks) convinces me that it's also in Evans' own interest to sell up soon. If he retains a stake he could recoup a big chunk of his 50 ish million (net loss) if/when the club is sold on. Square business. It's also good business to insist there is no impending deal until he actually gets a signature. Hence his denials and comforting words about only having the club's best interest at heart. Meanwhile if Town continue to look like real promotion prospects under Cook the asking price could rise. Evans must and will go unless he can magic up some mega money from somewhere. If not, more stagnation, more fan alienation, and yet another manager unemployable after his time at Town ends in failure. |
 | News Comment | Training Suspended Due to Blue Action Protest Fire at 13:13:05
First of all, there was no fire, at least not a deliberate or significant one. You're lapping up fake news. The Daily Mail online literally made up a story from presumably what the Club told them. And secondly I've been invited to 'grow up' for not choosing to demonise a demonstration that was staged so that it's impossible to ignore. Lambert and the Club chose to play victim of those 'violent hooligans' and it set off a TWTD whinge-fest of indignation. Blah blah blah. I've been watching dead rubber Town games on iFollow but now I have renewed interest because each one is now a political event. |
 | News Comment | Training Suspended Due to Blue Action Protest Fire at 23:34:47
Blue Action - the clue is in the name - does stuff. They didn't endanger anybody and those who think they did can't even see what a crushingly overregulated place England has become with or without the pandemic. Some of the commentators on here sound like they'd be more comfortable supporting smug, affluent, shiny Norwich who perfectly embody the well-behaved middle-class all-seater virtues of the modern game. It remains to be seen what effect the BA78 protest will have but hats off to those with the guts and passion to demonstrate. They're even doing Evans a favor by alerting him to the probability that if he doesn't change things, next season's ticket sales will plummet and the merch in the shop will collect dust. |
 | News Comment | Jackson Linked With Huddersfield Loan Move at 11:06:57
I never saw what else he had to offer except pace. He wants out. That might explain that sending off. Let him go and let's try and find someone who is a cold blooded assassin in front of goal. |
 | News Comment | Taylor: Dare I Say It, There Will Be Some Sort of Squad Rotation at 21:36:42
Show me the team that made wholesale changes every game and maintained a position at or near the top of the table. Won't happen for lots of reasons. The squad isn't good enough for a start. Players need to get familiar with each other on the pitch. Players need to compete for a place and break into an otherwise settled first team. I could go on but my thumb is tired. |
 | News Comment | Blue Action Plan Organised Protest at 13:50:56
Those who praise Marcus Evans as the Club's saviour must consider what salvation will look like. The impending salary cap and the opportunity to sell off some of our young stars will be good for his bottom line. If enough paying fans still come each week an extended spell in League 1 will be just the ticket. Maybe Colchester the new derby. Keeping company with some wonderful clubs but most of which won't be realistically looking up the leagues toward the Premier. That's your Ipswich under Evans. If you're cool with that just say so. |
 | News Comment | Jackson Contract Talks Reportedly Stall at 14:42:57
Good enough for Championship? Pace always counts for something while you try and figure out the rest of it. He's 26 and while I've been watching him this season with Town it seems it took him awhile to figure out how effective those angled runs could be. A Championship or Prem League player gets up that learning curve quicker. If he steps up now he'll be on the bench. |
