This 'Raise the Colours' movement...
at 08:40 2 Sep 2025

What on earth is there to be proud of? We are a pariah in Europe, laughed at by the rest of the world, and slowly descending into civil unreast because a minority of idiots don't like brown people.

My biggest takeaway from the game today was the standard
at 13:57 18 Aug 2025

I could argue...which it looks like I am...that I wasn't commenting on yesterday's performance at all given I said all the refs in our first three games have been rubbish.

Our performances have been poor, but I saw an improvement yesterday.

Anyway must get on.......

Sorry edgelord. Is the ability to focus on more than one aspect of a match beyond you?

I said the same. It seems the standard is very poor compared to last season. Three matches and three dodgy refs :(

My Mum used to go out with Billy Fury apparently........Gt Yarmouth was a top destination for the stars of the 60's by all accounts. She also had lunch with the Beatles before they were big.

One of Dad's fave stories was how when he worked in a bar in Yarmouth he walked in on Bernie Winters getting frisky with a girl in the loo.....no mention of Snorbitz though....

(Bet you didn't expect to see Bernie Winters mentioned on TWTD! )
(I'd love our new Spanish striker to read this post and start googling Bernie!!)

I'm 50, but my mother is now 77 so the chances of Pablo being my Dad are slim at best!!

I was going to say the same thing. We laud someone who wants to play for Town and downs tools until they get the move, but when one of our squad do it they are vilified.

I works both ways I'm afraid.

Need to vent. Had a job offer rescinded after weeks of delay.
at 09:04 8 Aug 2025

You really have my sympathy. I had a similar experience in the NHS. Was offered a role as head of a department after being asked to apply for the position (I was coming to the end of a career break at the time), but ultimately the position was handed to someone already within the team and I was cast aside after 6 months of delays. I still have the offer letter on my desk now (must burn it!)

What hurt was that I found up via a friend who was working in the department when they messaged asking why I wasn't taking up the role!! The person handed the role had been doing it for a week before anyone contacted me. To this day I have not had an explanation as to why I was bumped, but frankly I don't care anymore! As it turned out I ended up in a totally different role outside of the NHS which was a far better fit for me so it all worked out.

Like you said I would consider it a blessing in disguise as if that's the way they treat potential new staff members how are they treating current staff who are already invested in the company? You will look back in the future and breathe a sigh of relief.....it's just hard to see right now as you are in the midst of things. I think it's astonishing that companies preach 'being kind', but this doesn't seem to extend any further than a powerpoint presentation and empty words.

Try to keep a positive frame of mind, and remember that the role/company wasn't the right one for you. It's their loss at the end of the day!

My motto is that everything works out in the end, and if it doesn't feel like it will, then it's probably not the end!

We have recently got our Dora. She lives indoors currently as she's quite small but eventually she'll go outside. She has an indoor enclosure with an open top and heat lamp which is on 12 hours a day. She eats left over veg and dandelion leaves. Loves to climb over us when we are watching TV and is a proper adventurer (hence the name Dora the Explorer!).

Happy to send you pics if you want to PM me your number....I am no expert mind however she seems happy and healthy!

I never rated Cooper. Again, decent shot stopper, but his distribution was soooo slow.

Alan Hunter testimonial against Celtic.

Floodlights went down due to Celtic fans pee'ing on them (that was the rumour!)
