 | News Comment | Barrow Replay Date Set at 21:41:06
I was quietly hoping for a draw at Portman Road. Barrow will be my 89th club out of the 92. Good point about avoiding Roy's nonsense babbling on ITV by going to the game! COYB. |
 | News Comment | Former Owner Evans Linked With Move For Derby at 14:23:19
What do we credit Evans for? His investment strategy was so flawed this aspirant Premier League Club is now languishing in the third tier. He had to write off the debt (mess) that he had accumulated, he didn't have any choice. He doesn't care about ITFC, he never did and he won't care about Derby County (as a football club) either. |

There can be tax advantages of having an ailing subsidiary in a big group but losing money is losing money. Investment in football clubs is a straight gamble, you win if you get to the premier league, you lose if you don't. ME put his trust and investment with Simon Clegg and Roy Keane (seems comical with hindsight) and it failed. After that he was in an impossible spiral where he was trying to reduce the debts by selling any decent asset until the right offer came along. There was much interest in ITFC but only the current owners came up with a price that was acceptable to ME. After the initial gamble failed he was always going to lose, he just needed to reduce those losses. Once the initial gamble had failed he didn't care about ITFC, he was just a vain businessman that had bought a football club (much as you would a super yacht or private plane or multi million pound house, which he has) to see if he could turn a buck on it. We were ripe for plucking, we weren't actually in administration, we were in deep financial trouble and were near the top on the Championship when he swooped. I would fear for Derby but the gamble might pay off as ME will have learned a lot from his ITFC debacle. |

Thank you Bluearmy 81 - I was about to lose my rag about Evans again!! He didn't save us from anything and nearly took us to oblivion. |
 | News Comment | Cook: We'll Have to Be Adaptable and Patient at 15:10:05
Question. My wife and I are season ticket holders but I am ill with COVID (post double vaccination so I feel doubly sorry for those sick pre-vaccination as this is rubbish). We are being told to isolate for ten days so is there any way we can watch Saturday's game on a screen? |
 | News Comment | Legend Butcher Exits U23s Role at 16:41:20
A few months ago we were facing further decline under ME with no prospects, no goals and no chance of signing anybody that wasn't rejected by their respective clubs. And still you moan and make up fake news and conspiracies about where the club is going. Close down your social media and call up a friend or relative, we are going to be ok 💙ðŸ‘😀 |
 | News Comment | Legend Butcher Exits U23s Role at 22:50:04
None of you have the faintest idea what has happened or why. It is impossible to comment on the club, the hierarchy, Paul Cook or Terry Butcher without knowing any facts at all. |

It's a terribly damaging injury (finished my playing) so I wish him well. |

Just to extend the point that there are potential investors to take over ITFC and the fact that this sector is still quite vibrant - Sunderland have just been taken over by European investors and we are doubtless about to see a change in their fortunes. Marcus Evans is simply pricing himself out of the market as he tries to recoup too much money from his failed business. The failure of ITFC and the debt absorbed by the Marcus Evans Group is all down to his knowing absolutely nothing about football and/or investment into football clubs. He also surrounds himself with obsequious nobodies who do not have the personality to contradict him so this club's decline is only going to continue. |

Evans has offered a debt free club to any prospective buyer if they pay £20m and guarantee a level of investment into the team every year for 5 years and then he wants a significant share of the winnings if we return to the EPL. He knows he won't get a decent price for his failed investment so this is what he has come up with. It's laughable, the investment market is strangely vibrant and so Evans and his ridiculously unrealistic plan is laughed at by potential investors. He doesn't care about the fortunes of the club, he has hardly lost any money at all over the last three seasons because ITFC sell any valuable assets. He doesn't care about points or divisions or ITFC. I understand why you want to shout me down because like me, you are desperate for this not to be true. |

RIP ITFC Marcus, you have destroyed an integral part of our lives, I would be less sad if you cared just a little bit but now you are losing less money you can simply let us stagnate. Bye |
 | News Comment | O'Neill: Owner Can't Be Here as Much But is Actively Involved in Everything at 14:17:10
Sorry typo (too cross) 😀 League 2 here we come then! By the way he hasn't lost any of his own money in this venture, his corporate entity has absorbed a debt. Furthermore having sold off every available asset but still having a loyal following through the turnstiles, even the club has got onto a more even financial footing. He will keep that strategy going at the expense of our beloved football club. Committed as ever, LOL. |
