Anyone brave enough to say you were a Mick outer? He is as.close to Mick.in his approach as it gets! Not a bad thing in my view as Mick is very good at what he does. Make no mistake though it would be ripping everything up and starting again with very direct and basics right, in your face football. Warnock will get resuilts. My view is if we go for him its 3-4 games too late as he is an impact guy. He probably has 2 seasons left in him and any new manager would then struggle to make the adaption back from direct football (Like post Mick). It's a super short term approach.
I would love us to be brave and stick to a plan! It looks almost certain Lambert has failed this season. But he does care and he does have a decent football brain (contrary to what some think). He's desperate to build something sustainable. I know i'm in minority and if he goes it is justified but the replacement should be progressive or I only see at best short term bounce.
So it look like we've run our course this season. Absolutely gutting. Realistically who stays and who goes.
Downes, Woolf and Garbutt would seem the obvious candidates out the door. I suspect Dozzell will go more because he needs a change as it hasn't worked. Who else do you think are likely to go. I think Skuse and Chambers will probably stay 1 more year at L1 level but wouldnt be suprised if they go. Jackson might be an outsider to go as well.
The upside is El Mizouni, Dobra and (Please!) Lankaster will be progressed into fully fledged first teamers. Keane, Bish and Huws will be better for games under the belt for new season and KVY with a full preseason will be great. Nydam will maybe get tried at LB.
So what do we need. Leaders! its so obvious we lack leaders through the spine of the team. That has to be a priority. and delivery to replace Garbs.
God we all love to win (I think although hard to tell on here sometimes with the glee some get from sniping at Lambert and certain players).
Genuine question though: Can we not support the team through good and bad? It was refreshing how we supported team as we went down (horrible as it was from football side). This season has been up and down but we are not dead in the water yet. We're not ruined if we dont go up in actual fact but it will be failure at the first attempt. I dont expect us not to be gutted when we lose but this place becomes so toxic and hate filled.
Its so black and white with people. Lose a few games and Lambert and Evans are a joke. At some point we have to try and build something rather than break it all up and start again. This season has fallen away a bit but its not over yet.
Does anyone want this to go the way it did with Mick? Why would we want that history to repeat itself. Hurst was a disaster. I don't think Lambert is a disaster. I think he has made mistakes. Some of own making and some just for the right reasons at least (trying to avoid the injuries of the past etc).
If nothing else we've got to have some luck soon haha. Anyway hope we have something to be happy about today. Decisions can be made at end of season.
