I'd have Kieron Dyer as the first team coach under a manager like Paul Cook. A former Town player told me recently that Dyer is an impressive coach by all accounts. |

Gattuso would sort the Town players out. Modern football is a shadow of the game it was even ten years ago. Who can honestly be ar5ed with this rubbish. [Post edited 9 Jan 20:07]

I can deliver the great news that from tomorrow morning 6am talkradio will be back on YouTube. |

Who knows, I thought it was Johnny Duncan who signed him. He certainly played under Duncan for Scunthorpe. I'm not sure Botham was a full time professional footballer with Scunthorpe, just played now and again over the course of a few years. |

What is a falsehood? It appears the people who make these decisions didn't like criticism of lockdowns. That's opinion, freedom of speech. If people want to restrict this they're going down a dangerous road which doesn't end well. |

YouTube is pretty much a monopoly in this country now and should be treated in law as such. This is censorship, none of it's terms and conditions have been broken. |

She was 5 when I met the family. A tiny girl at the time, I have photographs of them all which I must dig out and post. |

Agree, they are a private company. they can do as they please. However they should therefore be regarded in law as a publisher and judged as such. At the moment they're not. This decision is all about big tech censorship of a platform they don't like. Very communist. [Post edited 5 Jan 16:28]

Of course they're keen for it to go ahead, they've ten of millions of pounds on the line in sponsorship to lose. The current situation in football is driven 100% by money, the show must go on no matter what. |

Agree, Dozzell and Kiwomya were superb together. Bit like D Bent and Ambrose during their time playing together for Town. |

A few months after he arrived at Town I ended up in Sergei's house thanks to a great man called Bob Shelley. Sergei gave me a Soviet hammer and sickle lapel badge and a signed Dynamo Kyiv team photograph. I still have the team photo and I'm sure the badge is knocking around somewhere. I remember his wife was the tallest woman I'd ever seen, she was an Olympian. His son was a very good young footballer at the time, a striker. He ended up as a full-back and played for St Mirren. Sergei is a youth coach at Charlton. |

Was that the 4-2 win at Walsall? The Duncan era wasn't the best, we had good players who should have made up a team to at least make the play-offs. However I enjoyed it and it is miles better than what we have today. Baltacha joining was great at the time, however it was a waste of time when we didn't play a sweeper system. I suspect it was a bit of a publicity stunt, remember John Duncan was the man who signed Ian Botham for Scunthorpe. John Lyall would have got those players promoted. |

Warky played quite a few games as a centre forward during his second spell, scored some goals from corners from near post flick ons with Wark heading home or volleying in at the far post. A simple trick which Division Two defences didn't seem able to prevent a lot of the time. He also played alongside Linighan a lot, including the infamous 5-0 hammering at Port Vale on New Year's Day when they were hungover. He tells the story in his book. |

I think there were over 18,000 there for thew game. Sergei put 2,000 extra on the gate. 0-0 at half-time before Sergei scored early in the second half at the Churchman's end. Dave Bamber scored a header for Stoke at 3-0. You're right about the pitch and it was a defence of Yallop, Linighan, Wark and Harbey. David Hill played in midfield. I have the full match on VHS but haven't watched it since 1989. Very nice man Sergei, who was part of the Soviet Union squad which reached the final of the 1988 European Championship a few months before joining us. The best side at the tournament in my opinion. Always one of life's great mysteries why you'd sign a world class sweeper and play him on the right wing. Sergei's instructions when he arrived was to 'run, run, run'. Madness.
